Hi Shambala108! As you may have heard from the announcement post, the LOST Wiki admins are inactive and will receive demotion. However, that does not mean this wiki will be admin-less. And after researching the users around here, I am excited to offer you the position of admin for this site! It is entirely your choice to accept it or not, and if you feel it is not something that interests you, that is alright. Please message me back when you get the chance.
A New year for Fandom
I’m contacting you, because we want to get off on the right foot the year and after all the feedback received at Community Connect, we want to know more about the current status of the communities. First step is to analyze the previous year, so we would like to hear from you about 2019. It’s so important for us to know what’s your opinion about the work that we did in 2019. It has been a year of a lot of changes and we would like to continue working in the right direction and find solutions to any problem detected by you in the last year.
We know that you could have questions about the UCP too, please feel free to ask me anything about it and I will share your concerns, comments and questions with the other Community Managers in order to obtain an answer as soon as possible.
Finally, also I would like to invite you to rate the last year in Fandom from 1 to 5, meaning 1 as "definitely not good" and 5 like "this has been a fantastic year!". It would be super helpful for our work.
BTW, if you haven’t joined us on Discord, feel free to do it, we plan to run some new projects there and use it as platform to communicate important things to TV/Movies communities, so you will be welcome to our server!
How are you doing? I'm sharing with you an important message about the upcoming United Community Platform (UCP) this year. As you know, FANDOM and Gamepedia will receive a huge renovation for improvements of editor/user/visitor experience planned to allow all extensions currently available to the MediaWiki engine. And due to that, the community will be going through phases of the development. To stay up to date about these upcoming changes, the blog is available for you to reference. Additionally, please be on the lookout for UCP phase releases and keep the users informed. For any questions and others, as always, please don't hesitate to message me about them, and I will be happy to answer them for you!
You removed a photo because that's blurry. That is actually a photo taken from the Background cast/DHARMA Initiative table. Look, there's a blank hole on Wayne's row now, because it has been removed. I mean, they are background cast, it's reasonable they don't get focus in the scene, so it's normal for their image to be blurry. I changed Wayne's photo, because I think it's better to have one showing him alive, instead of a post-mortem image. But if you think a post-mortem image is fine because it's just a TV show and is better than a blurry image, shouldn't you just change it back instead of deleting it? I don't get it. If the photo is uploaded without a license, why don't you just add it? You can press edit from the top right corner menu, the same place where you find the delete button, and put a "tv-screenshot" template on, right? And if that's not working for whatever reason, you can also upload the image again with a license, which would probably just waste you a little bit more time than deleting it.
Consider you are not planning to cover all the unlicensed images right away, isn't it a bad idea to just delete the image when you come across it? Imagine if you come across pages like Background cast/DHARMA Initiative, you can just delete the whole page as nearly all of the images there are uploaded by me without any license. I'm not saying uploading licensed images are wrong, it's totally right, and I will upload them right in the future, but my point is, if you are not replacing the unlicensed image with an exact same one with a license, and just leave it with a broken image link like what is happening on Wayne's row in the Background cast/DHARMA Initiative page, it's just terrible.
Fair enough. The image is uploaded by me, you have no obligation to put a license on. I just think adding a license is a way better solution than deleting the image. If you don't think you should add it, you could have send me a message and tell me to add it myself. Especially pics from background cast tables, if you delete them, how do I know what's that pic supposed to be? To upload the pic again, I will have to go through episodes and find the exact same frame and capture it. But first, I will have to know what the deleted pic actually depicted. Are you expecting me to remember every single pic from those tables as if you deleted it and I would still know to replace it with an exact same one but with a license? - This user now banned following unacceptable edits to main pages (adding personal opinions and theories as if they’re fact such as Boone reincarnating as Aaron etc) and insulting my fellow admin by referring to Shambala108 as a “creature” when previous poor edits were made that needed to be corrected. --Gregaus (talk) 01:29, June 28, 2020 (UTC)
End of the Year Review!
Hi there! It's been a unique and challenging year for everyone, and because of that, Fandom is debating about how to move forward in 2021. I would greatly appreciate you filling out this form with your feedback about your experience on the platform this year, so we can get a sense of how we did, how we can improve, and what our focus should be for 2021. This survey will be totally anonymous, so we encourage you to be as honest and constructive as possible.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to provide us with your thoughts and feedback. If you have any additional questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to send those my way and I will be more than happy to help you!
