No prob

don't worry about it. I know that when you're caught up in your work it's easy to let simple mistakes like that slide by. Welcome to Lostpedia as well!--Berethor222 15:42, 3 March 2008 (PST)

New color system

Now that the new color codes have been created, I think there needs to be a page that explains the meaning of the color code. It's hard for Lostpedia visitors to figure out what each one of them means: alive, deceased, defected, etc. I think the color system is good, but there needs to be a finalized key that shows what each color represents. This will help create a more unified color system throughout all of LP. Also, I added two new colors: BLUE for deuterocanonical characters, and YELLOW for expanded universe characters. Thanks for all your hard work! -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 16:13, 16 June 2008 (PDT)

I think right underneath the index would be good for it. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 10:37, 17 June 2008 (PDT)

I added this key to all of those pages:

I tried to make a box around it but I don't know how. Maybe someone else could. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 09:29, 22 June 2008 (PDT)

I couldn't help but notice your message on Lost Soul's talkpage. Could you please tell me which major redshirt this is, so I can make sure that they have not already been contacted, etc. Also, you must contact a sysop before doing an interview of any kind. Thanks. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  08:33, 23 June 2008 (PDT)

A SysOp is an administrator of Lostpedia. Plkrtn would be the one to contact. You should not have gone through doing an interview without first reading what was needed to do the interview (A simple bit of reading on Lostpedia forums would have helped, as well as contacting either me or Lost Soul to make sure that Dustin had not been contacted). I made the same mistake of not contacting the sysops, but I had also taken time to make sure it was okay with Lost Soul and to make sure that he had not contacted anyone I had planned to do. Finally, as Lost Soul said below, I doubt the sysops would not take very kindly to this (as they have posted many warnings about this sort of thing in the past), and I don't think you could go ahead with the interview under Lostpedia's name. Any questions, let me know. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  08:40, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
Well, I think I already told you what exactly you did wrong. You did not think to ask before arranging an interview. You should have asked me and/or Lost Soul as well to make sure one of us did not talk to Dustin before. I wouldn't consider you "off the site," but I think that if you would like to help with the interviews, drop the contact details for whichever you find with either myself or Lost Soul to contact these people. You would be credited in the interview, but we can't have too many cooks in the kitchen, you know? -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  09:06, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
No, they will not be very happy that you did not follow their directions. See here.-- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  09:11, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
You are not being very reasonable. In fact, your hostile tone is not very reasonable at all. I'm not stating that you have less rights than I do. I am stating that you should have contacted a SysOp before contacting Dustin to begin with, and I'm stating that you should not have contacting him without doing so. And I did not bring up you being off the site. You mentioned that yourself in your second reply on my talk page, to which I replied that I did not think that you would be off the site. And yes, you do deserve a chance, but you should have gone through the proper procedure beforehand, and that there are already enough people working on the interviews as is. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  09:16, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
  • What he's saying is that the SysOps are in charge. They have said that you have to contact them if you want to interview anyone, and that's the procedure. Admittedly, this should be posted on the Wiki somewhere. However, when Sam directed you to the forums, I would have thought that that would be explanation enough.--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  09:20, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
    • And, also, we do appreciate your help, and we do understand that you are trying to do something for the site - and that's a very positive thing. However, no matter what, the sysops need to be informed of anything that directly involves the site they administrate. You can ask any one of them, and they will tell you exactly what Sam and myself have said.--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  09:22, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
      • And, finally, with regards to your message on Kittylili's talk page, that is the correct procedure. I've messaged here over the forums, directing her to Sam's talk, so she has the full story. Just letting you know.--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  09:25, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
I'm not saying that you can't do it. I said that you went about the wrong way of doing it. Maybe, if you contact a SysOp, they would allow you to do it (though I doubt it). And if you do any future interviews under the Lostpedia name, you should contact me and Lost Soul first. I almost emailed Mr. Watchman a few days ago, but didn't get around to it. So please, be reasonable and mature about this entire situation. Okay? -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  09:26, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
You're overreacting extremely. I have treated you as politely as possible, and you have misconstrued my words into rudeness. And me and him are not SysOps, correct. But we have gotten permission from the SysOps to conduct interviews, while you have not. It's a simple matter of what should have happened. It's not my fault that you did not follow the rules, so don't blame me, okay? -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  09:38, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
I'm not saying that you can't talk to Mr. Watchman. You can talk to him all you want. But I doubt you'll be able to conduct an interview with him under the Lostpedia name. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  09:46, 23 June 2008 (PDT)

Thank you for contacting me, but after seeing your attitude towards Lost Soul and Sam McPherson, I really do not think you are fitting to represent the Lostpedia name at this time. -- Kittylili

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that, Rbfskywalker. Lostpedia is a fansite, it's not Lost-approved by anyone. Which redshirt were you talking to? Was it Dustin? It is very important that you tell me, because we need to know who not to email. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  09:55, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
Okay, thanks. I'm sorry for any misunderstanding. It was partially my fault as well. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  09:58, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
I don't think you should leave the site. You are not underappreciated. In fact, your edits to the missions pages were very constructive and needed, as well as your help with the main characters portal. Just because you don't give interviews doesn't mean you're not a great editor in other senses. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  10:17, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
Hm. I have already conducted an interview with Christian Bowman, who played Steve. Maybe something like this could possibly work.I think it would go over better if I sent the questions, but you would be credited with helping secure the interview and creating the questions. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  10:36, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
I too would be happy to be involved with this. I think it could work. That way, everybody's happy, right? :)--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  10:39, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
I think a group effort with me, you, and Lost Soul might be a good idea. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  10:43, 23 June 2008 (PDT)

RE: Interview

  • I can only echo what Sam just said. You need to contact a SysOp before conducting interviews - this is what they've said. I find it unlikely that they will allow someone else to do it. Thanks,--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  08:35, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
  • I'm glad you guys worked something out, that sounds great. -- Kittylili
  • Yes, I agree to Rbfskywalker working with Lost Soul and Sam McPherson on interviews, as long as they are in agreement with it.-- Kittylili
Well, seeing as LS is on vacation until Friday, it's okay with me. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  07:55, 7 July 2008 (PDT)
  • ok good :). I recon if we get some questions together by friday, then Lost Soul can look at them and make eny changes. Do we want a page for submiting questions to Dustin?--Rbfskywalker 07:57, 7 July 2008 (PDT)
I've created a subheader on my question submission page; since he's not a major major player, that should be enough room. And LS may have his hands full with Jorge Garcia's interview, but that's fine if you want. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  08:00, 7 July 2008 (PDT)
  • okidoki that sound good!--Rbfskywalker 08:01, 7 July 2008 (PDT)
Great. We'll have to organize a schedule or whatnot, but this will be done over email. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  08:05, 7 July 2008 (PDT)

Okay, look...

  • Right. Okay. I'm sorry if I offended you. It was not my intention, and I apologise that this situation has upset you so. I understand your point of view entirely. I understand what you're saying. I can see how this would annoy you. Perhaps Sam and I came into this the wrong way. However, I have never said "I doubt it" - I said it was unlikely, which is not a definite no. As for your other points - no, I am not a sysop. However, I have been given permission by the sysops to conduct these interviews, and as such, technically, I suppose that you could say I am in charge of them. Sam wanted to help, and he asked, and I agreed, and once we spoke to a sysop, they did too. However, they said that they do not want many more people all conducting interviews, because it will get confusing. That's the state of play. Now, it's true that this should be posted on the Wiki somewhere, and I apologise again that it was not. It's our fault - not yours - and I take responsibility for it. Perhaps we should not have said what we said. But we were just trying our best to explain the situation, and you got very defensive about it. So, I'm sorry, I should have handled this situation better.--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  09:55, 23 June 2008 (PDT)

Which question was this again? -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  08:38, 27 June 2008 (PDT)

Well, the fact of the matter is, Lost is a fansite. It's not approved by anyone related to Lost. However, we have done interviews with Christian Bowman and several other actors, but we do not have approval from anyone directly working for Lost. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  08:45, 27 June 2008 (PDT)
Tell him just that. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  08:50, 27 June 2008 (PDT)
  • Hey. I was just looking around and saw that you were leaving this site. Well, I'll see ya in another life, brotha.--Lostbrotha 23:17, 4 July 2008 (PDT)
Okay. Listen, I'm not sure about how reliable this is or anything...I think you should run it by a sysop one more time, just to be sure that its okay if you do the interview with my help. Because I, honestly, am not sure. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  07:16, 7 July 2008 (PDT)
Alright, just one more thing and I'll help you set up the questions. Can you possibly tell where you got the contact details (so as to prove their worth). I'm not accusing you of anything, but I've almost been duped before. You can send them to my email, leprechaunsam (at) -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  07:44, 7 July 2008 (PDT)
Er, did the mod agree?! That didn't sound like formal authorisation to me if you mean what Kitty said? I'd like to see her state it again for the record please. --Nickb123 (Talk) 07:48, 7 July 2008 (PDT)
I'll work on it soon. And remember, the list of questions I make is the final list. No more. Cool? -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  09:42, 11 July 2008 (PDT)
Let me rephrase that: I'm working on it now. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  09:46, 11 July 2008 (PDT)
Alright. A few questions are going to be omitted, but not all of them, don't worry. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  09:52, 11 July 2008 (PDT)
I'll be sure to let you know why not. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  09:58, 11 July 2008 (PDT)
Go ahead and check your email. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  10:15, 11 July 2008 (PDT)
...was putting your name first in credits for the interview really necessary? -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  14:42, 20 July 2008 (PDT)
  • Well, good luck with those interviews for HeroesWiki, though I hope you'd spoken to the admins over there before starting.-- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  14:56, 20 July 2008 (PDT)
    • I see that you have once again reverted to your somewhat childish accusations. We are not "hogging," the interviews as you so claim. However, I wish you all the best with your interviews at HeroesWiki. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  15:35, 20 July 2008 (PDT)
  • I can tell that you're trying to prove a point, but the point you're making isn't really that strong. More is not always better. However, that is a good achievement. Glad to hear that you're being so successful with your interviews. I'm sure HeroesWiki is very happy for your help. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  11:09, 23 July 2008 (PDT)

Its fine, as a SysOp I liaise with the interview team and agreed with them in advance. Also as a SysOp I get executive decision rights, haha. Thanks for trying to warn me though, much appreciated! --Nickb123 (Talk) 12:40, 10 August 2008 (PDT)

Cool, good luck with that. --Nickb123 (Talk) 12:48, 10 August 2008 (PDT)

It was an advertisement for an outside source. I'm not jealous, I'm just growing tired of you posting that you're getting an interview but not posting it here because you weren't asked. You're not doing it to be beneficial to anyone, you're simply doing it to try and show that LP should be sorry for turning you away. That attitude is the entire reason that you were not allowed to do interviews in the first place. I'm removing your advertisement, and do not revert it again. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  15:00, 15 August 2008 (PDT)

Okay. First off, I am not treating you like you are less than me. I understand that we're all equals. However, your frequent outbursts and overall unpleasant personality makes it hard for me to look upon you with much respect. And frankly, you never see DarkUfo or Jay and Jack coming on to LP to advertise their interviews. Why is this? Because they realize that LP is not the dumping ground for them to hype their external interviews (which you are undeniably doing). And the people here aren't "mean." We simply felt there were too many cooks in the kitchen, so to speak, and your immature outburst and reaction was the reason why you were not chosen to do interviews. If you had gone about it using the proper procedure and being reasonable, perhaps you would have been allowed your interviews. And no, I'm not watching every page you edit, though with your recent behavior, it's obvious I should. And that's not a personal attack in any way. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  15:18, 15 August 2008 (PDT)
Yeah come on dude, I mean forget the personal attacks, but I asked you not to do the advertising about external interviews and you did it again for Speaker. We're actually planning a Speaker interview at some point in the future - but again you don't care to ask about doing things first - you just do it, like saying you had an interview under LP's name without ever asking previously if we agreed to it before you did it. So yeah, just drop the interview thing fully, and everyone move on with other things. --Nickb123 (Talk) 15:28, 15 August 2008 (PDT)
Um...telling someone you were on Facebook isn't advertising. Telling someone that YOUR website only is hosting questions for this guy so that other people can ask them is. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  04:18, 18 August 2008 (PDT)
Ah, my mistake. However, my comment was not as "nasty," as some of yours have been, to be perfectly fair. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  04:22, 18 August 2008 (PDT)

your post

On my talk page, you wrote "please don't try to be a SysOp so hard". That's none of your buisness, nor something that you should worry about. What I try to be or try not to be is something I should worry about, not you. Please don't consider this a personal attack, becuase it's just an opinion.--Orhan94 05:19, 16 August 2008 (PDT)

Oh right sorry!

I know, but he is gonna be banned! I should really get rid of that before, well you know!!!  Bringlibbyandcharlieback  Talk   Contribs 02:49, 18 August 2008 (PDT)

Oh, ya, and I completely agree with you about Sam McPherson!  Bringlibbyandcharlieback  Talk   Contribs 02:51, 18 August 2008 (PDT)

  • Lol thanks, I shouldn't really say anything bad about him, he hates me enough all ready. --Rbfskywalker 02:54, 18 August 2008 (PDT)
Okay, first off, I don't hate you. You make great edits to the missions pages, as well as other pages. However, your personality is a bit forceful, and you tend to do things without asking first, and then complaining when you're told not to do them. But I'm curious as to what BLaCB agrees with you about me. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  04:28, 18 August 2008 (PDT)

ImDb Pro

Nope, don't have it. Sorry. I thought you and HeroesWiki were really well off with the interviews, though... -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  04:36, 21 August 2008 (PDT)

Yeah, you've never failed to state that. But then why would you need IMDbPro then? Seems to me like you've got all the interviews you need. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  04:41, 21 August 2008 (PDT)
Not being rude, just curious. But no, I do not have IMDb Pro. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  04:43, 21 August 2008 (PDT)

RE: Sorry to contact you like this

  • I did, but I answered your Nick question on his interview talk page, and assumed you'd read that. Sorry about that. As for NBC, I've contacted them, and am awaiting a reply. I'll keep you informed. Congrats on getting Jimmy Jean Louis's interview! Thanks,--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  05:14, 21 August 2008 (PDT)

RE: MySpace

  • If you are Interview King, then yes. Is that a problem? I've credited you on the interview page for helping me find the contact details, so I hope that's all okay with you, and that you don't mind. If you do mind, I can always cancel the interview; Speaker's MySpace is listed on Lostpedia, so I may have found it anyway, but I stumbled on Interview King and decided to go through there. But, again, like I said, you have been given credit for helping me, and, of course, you can submit questions as always. --  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  03:30, 26 August 2008 (PDT)
    • Of course I won't ask the same questions. That would be silly. I'm not getting into an argument about this, not again. I must say, I do feel guilty - but attempted to appease my guilt by giving you all due credit for the details. And also, don't forget, it was me who gave you the NBC details over at HW - without that, some of your interviews might not have happened. So, you know... I'm sorry. I didn't do it to spite you, I didn't do it to upset you, and I didn't do it to encroach on your territory, as it were. As I said, if you really, really object, I guess I will cancel the interview, and go about it through an alternative route. --  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  05:13, 26 August 2008 (PDT)
      • I noticed you said to Lost Soul, "if you are just interviewing the same people I have then is there really any point of me doing it?" Well that's funny, because your new site states it has an interview with April Parker-Jones. Mighty hypocritical of you, sir. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  05:16, 26 August 2008 (PDT)
        • Hey, I AM TRYING NOT TO START A AGRUMENT, WHY ARE YOU HETTING INVOLVED! you were the one who said I couldn't get a interview with Michelle Rodriguez with I I think is a awful thing yo say. the point I was making is that my interview with speaker was done just a week ago.--Rbfskywalker 05:19, 26 August 2008 (PDT)
          • I'm getting involved because it looks to me like you're trying to make us end the Speaker interview. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  05:21, 26 August 2008 (PDT)
            • This is happening again. I don't want it to. Quite frankly, I'm sick of this. It's happening all the time - on two different sites! Clearly, the three of us have differing opinions. That's cool. But can we stop arguing? Please? Now, are you happy with both of us having an interview with Speaker, or not?--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  05:22, 26 August 2008 (PDT)
              • Yes I am, I said I was, which Sam didn't seem to see. I was trying my best not to start a argument, but it would seem Sam wants to start one. I will say what I said before. You are fine to go ahead with this interview but in future please don't use my myspace to find your interviews, and sam please stop getting involved where you are not needed!--Rbfskywalker 05:26, 26 August 2008 (PDT)
                • I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm simply ensuring that the speaker interview will continue on as planned. Take it how you will, Rbf. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  05:28, 26 August 2008 (PDT)
                  • If you had read what I posted, you would so seen I said I was fine with it going ahead, LS asked me if I was ok with it, I never mentioned cancelling the interview. --Rbfskywalker 05:29, 26 August 2008 (PDT)
Erm, does it help if I say that I was intending to speak to Speaker about interviews a while ago and had a contact through User:Congested lol. Also, did none of you realize his email is listed on his website for a contact? --Nickb123 (Talk) 06:39, 26 August 2008 (PDT)
    • Its all ok now, I said it was fine to go ahead with this interview as long as my myspace was not used in future. --Rbfskywalker 06:41, 26 August 2008 (PDT)

I posted a couple questions on your user page were it told me to post, but when I was reading up on christian it said that he already did an interview. I wasn't sure if we were having another one or if that was just outdated. I do have a couple question's for him but I don't want to go posting on your user page if it's pointless. For that matter what about Michelle's interview as well being that was the one I posted question's for in the first place?-- SawBucks  Talk  Contribs  04:09, 8 December 2008 (PST)
