The Cleanup template

Thanks for making that-it's needed. Good work! -- Ramirez Selvarn 14:25, 25 May 2006 (PDT)

The Lemuria thingie should be moved to Lost Continent (theory) and Lemuria, Lost continent should be redirects. It should also be marked with the Fanon template and follow the same format as other theory entries such as Dreamtime (theory) or Last Humans (theory). --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 06:35, 28 May 2006 (PDT)

Theory Policy

Thanks for the compliment. I fear we're going about this the wrong way, unfortunately. XSG 17:15, 29 May 2006 (PDT)

delete templates

Hi, just as a friendly tip, if you're nominating an article for deletion, do add the template, but please leave the contents of the article otherwise intact. Thanks! -- Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯  Talk 01:58, 3 November 2006 (PST)

Theory Policy

Don't know if any apologies need to be made. I was/am for the strict theory policy. You can see from the edits of the policy that a significant majority of the policy is my writing.

In practice, it is apparently ineffectual. I agree with you. And I'm not happy about this.

I'm loathe to support relaxing the policy, as I think the high standard is warranted. I don't think anyone really wants LostPedia to become so full of junk and nonsense that it's not maintainable, and it's obvious (from the theory sections and the forums) how much nonsense people spew...

Bottom line: I believe if we relax the policy, this site is going to go to the dogs. The theory policy at least gives the editors who care about such things the leeway to be justified in striking nonsensical content.

What's the right answer? I don't know. This site seems welcome enough to new ideas and proposals; if you have one that I believe is good, I'd stand behind you on it. If you have one that I believe is bad, I'll argue with you about it. It's nothing personal, so long as we both have the ultimate goal of making this place the best it can be... The theory policy isn't that strict. It just asks that theories aren't "pie in the sky". You need to be able to provide examples from within the show that this could be the case. For example. I could state "Hurley is HIM" and without the reasoning. Its not a theory, its just speculation. -- Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  10:33, 5 November 2006 (PST)
