I love all of the non canon crap appearing on the site. However, it would help if there were a way to police or better assure that more delineation be made between canon, fanon, and the inbetween. ZachsMind 08:42, 5 May 2006 (PDT)

I think everyone was their own right to haviong a lost website but i dont thinkt that it has any place on this website. Koolaidman 13:45, 5 May 2006 (PDT)

i think its a relevance reference.. its a tv show about a horse, and theres a horse in the island. -- comment by reaction

It's about a nickname given to eko by sawyer, theres already a whole page devolted to nicknames. Kman       talk contribs                   15:53, 9 May 2006 (PDT)

Greetings fellow lostaway! I am one of your mighty Sysops and I've been liking your work around here. I refer constantly to your user page to judge if a deletion is in order, as you se I've been pretty much followed your call, but I am undecided of what to do with the "Orange" entry, it seems to be the borderline before creating entries about shoelaces or the relevance of hair color. I added the Godfather references, but I still hold some hope for this lame entry, what would you recommend? †††GodEmperorOfHell††† --10:32, 11 May 2006 (PDT)
Quote from the homepage: "This wiki was set up in order to keep track of the numerous mysteries, facts, and theories surrounding ABC's hit series Lost. We would like this wiki to evolve into a free and open directory of knowledge about Lost." if you ask me "orange" doesn't fall in to any of the three mentioned objectives for lostpedia, its more of a theory but dsoesn't really come out and say it, and its relevence to lost are skecthy. The godfather was a good movie, but the connection between it and the oranges on lost are a bit sketchy, if existent at all. You know my views on all of the fanon and non-cannon stuff -- the orange page is another one of those things that I think has no place on lostpedia, or at least certainly doesn't deserve its own page. Not ready yet...

When it's ready you will see. it's a surprise some of the other sysops are preparing for us, it did not work thos time but when it does we will make the announcement. †††GodEmperorOfHell††† --12:13, 17 May 2006 (PDT)

ok thanks buddy.Kman       talk contribs                   12:46, 17 May 2006 (PDT)

I'm pretty sure you have some red links in your user page =). BTW, we have been working behind the scenes and although not official yet, it's safe to say that what you saw us doing yesterday can improve user experience. Wait until the official announcement, though. †††GodEmperorOfHell††† --08:53, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

New users

  • Anyone notice the massive influx of new users to lostpedia in the last two days? if find it just a little fishy, I know that the sysops use espionage, but is there maybe a script to help track users that may be creating multiple (more than say 2) accounts? Kman       talk contribs                   14:25, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

well, now you CAN see it, but the last month has seen an enourmous influx of new users. traffic is greater than ever and our rivals have been dwarfed. don't worry, we know how to handle multiple accounts, working in the backstage for all of you. †††GodEmperorOfHell††† --14:35, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

Ok, I see, I'm wasn't used to seeing this at all on wikipedia, which im not so active and rarely visit at anymore. Kman       talk contribs                   14:38, 18 May 2006 (PDT)
may just be the effect of the lost experience kicking in, thats what led me here - Mikey 14:40, 18 May 2006 (PDT)
What concerned me was that there were groupings of several newbies at once, with no contribs. Multiple sockpuppets? LOSTonthisdarnisland 20:41, 19 May 2006 (PDT)
Just to play devil's advocate, when I signed up for Lostpedia it was just to make one minor addition. After that I didn't do anything for nearly two months; it's possible the new accounts have undertaken the ancient and forgotten tradition of netiquette, and are lurking before posting :) --Atiaxi 10:13, 27 May 2006 (PDT)

†††GodEmperorOfHell††† --08:37, 21 May 2006 (PDT)

Believe it or not I get A's in spanish, I speak it better than I write it down, which is wierd. Kman       talk contribs                   08:56, 21 May 2006 (PDT)

†††GodEmperorOfHell††† --14:24, 21 May 2006 (PDT)

Well, as sayid told shannon the best way to learn a language is to live in the country, I've been to San Diego, thats pretty close to mexico. And I don't know what part of mexico you live in but I bet you dont see alot of americans (probably because of the dumbest immigration policy ever has created some "tension" between our people). As for you speaking english better than most english speakers I dont doubt it, a lot of people I know are so used to writing down u instead of you that they just become lazy, then of course there are regional accents (I'm sure mexico has these too), I can understand some one from a state or two away if i wer having a conversaotion with somone on the oppisite side of the country I may have a problem understanding them, somthing might get lsot in the regional borders. The spoken anguage is different than the written language, people are very lazy when they speak. Kman       talk contribs                   14:33, 21 May 2006 (PDT)

thank you for your support regarding this idea. i think a link on the main page or in an article regarding editing guidelines would be a good idea too. --kaini. 15:02, 24 May 2006 (PDT)

All the articles you are having redirect to SPAM

You probably didn't notice, but I set up a "delete" template based on the stub template. It looks like this: I thought you might want to use that instead of the "redirect to spam" method. -- Ramirez Selvarn 16:07, 24 May 2006 (PDT)

oh yeah, not a bad idea, thanks for reminding me. Kman       talk contribs                   16:08, 24 May 2006 (PDT)

my bad

lack of co-ordination is the reason. rather than redirecting stuff to spam, i'll leave sysops get on with the job of deleting them. sorry kaini. 16:24, 24 May 2006 (PDT)

no prob, I thought that might be it, just wsnted to send up a red flag to you.Kman       talk contribs                   16:25, 24 May 2006 (PDT)

thanks buddy, I was halfway expecting this; a large influx of new users all wanting to leave their fingerprint on lostpedia. All in a day's work. Kman       talk contribs                   13:19, 25 May 2006 (PDT)

If a theory is discredited

If a thoery is descreditied i propose it be moved to the bottom of the list. I'm not sure why, I just think it's a good idea. Kman       talk contribs                   14:44, 28 May 2006 (PDT)

That could get messy if you mean every crackpot theory; however, if you mean plausible theories that are debunked as the show moves forward, that is a very good idea. A header 'Debunked Theories' could be added, to prevent future posting of the same theories. -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 19:02, 29 May 2006 (PDT)

As you see perma-deletions are impossible, but a protected redirect is the best way to handle this issues. Hope he does not get proactive and create a separate article with the same info. Thanks for the notice. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 07:36, 21 July 2006 (PDT)

  • Instead of having signatures on country pages, we (all of the Users, not just Americans) are going to have templates that state their nationality that can added to their userpage if they wish. Our template can be viewed here and to get on your userpage just type {{{USA}}}. Thank you for your time and God Bless America.--CaptainInsano

You knew it was coming - Talk:DJ Dan live broadcasts - this time, its personal. Last time was hell, this time will be the same, but it'll be the last thing we ever do with the the game I reckon. If you wanna transcribe again, and no-one would blame you if you didn't, then sign on the page. Thanks! --Nickb123 (Talk) 13:12, 22 September 2006 (PDT)

bring back the casualties petition

After the events that happend with deleting the 5 casualty articles, me and some other users started a petition for bringing those articles back on Lostpedia. If you share our opinion on this matter, please sign the "Save The Redshirts" section on my user page. If you want you could contact other users about this or create a "Save the redshirts" section on your user page, because the goal is to get as many users to sign the petition as possible along with 6 SysOps (Admins). I would appriciate a quick respond and a sign on either my user page or User:LostCloverfield42's page. --Orhan94
