Ok, after seeing Across the Sea, here's what I was thinking about Jacob and MiB. It turns out MiB was the villan/bad guy in our story. And the protector of the island was good. I don't think that there is a "good" or "bad" guy. The original "protector" was someone that killed a whole village of innocent people. But we are expected to root for her successor(s). To me, MiB seemed like a normal guy who wanted to learn and experience new things, and break away from the lies and constraints of his childhood, but Mother and Jacob wouldn't let him. And honestly, if I had been stuck on that island for so many year, and was so desperate to get off, I think I might have tried to kill off the candidates and Jacob too. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, what do ya'll think?
