John Locke: Believer or Sucker?

Was Locke a believer in the island like Jack said and has a greater destiny still, or a sucker like MiB said, a pawn in MiB's game? I say a believer. Remember what Richard said, what lies in the shadow of the statue is he who will save us all. I think that that he is Locke. So believer or sucker?
