which episodes to watch?
some backstory: I started watching lost just over a year ago - I crammed the first four seasons in in time to watch the season 5 premier - it was hard - I was watching at least an hour of lost a day for weeks on end - then I watched the premier and started jonesing hard because now I was getting an hour a week!
since season 5 ended (I'm going to preface this by saying I have a lot of free time) I watched the entire thing backwards (weird, I know) so, in the last year, I've watched the entire thing twice
now with only a few days to go and some boredom/free time setting in, I want to watch a few episodes - I've seen all of season 5 at least twice and there's not a lot there that I need to go over again - so I'm reaching out to the community he…
changing the past won't "make it all better" for jack and his crew
OK - here's something that's bugging me about the whole lost time travel thing - in the last few episodes, people keep saying things like "well, if we change the past, then flight 815 lands" - it doesn't make any sense to think that if Jack were to set off the bomb then POOF he's back on his seat on flight 815 at the INSTANT that it WOULD HAVE torn apart - that's just ridiculous - as faraday pointed out, "this is our present" - since Jack has traveled back in time (and I'm saying just "Jack" here so I don't have to name everyone else, but the point's the same) - let's call him "Jack 1" - well, there's a "Jack 2" somewhere in the world in 1977 (assuming that Jack was born before 1977) - if by some chance Jack 2 ends up on flight 815 (and Ja…

the barracks in 2008
OK - so, one thing that bugged me about this season was the "selective flashing" - for example, on flight 316, Jack, etc. flash and go back in time, but Sun, etc. don't flash and stay in the present - at first, I was unsure whether they were in the present (2008) or at some other non-1977 point in time - when Sun and Lapidus get to the Barracks, there's a Dharma recruitment sign hanging off its post, a Dharma logo on the door to the building where they meet Christian and Dharma recruit photos hanging on the wall - why is all that stuff there? I didn't see ANY of that when the others live in the Barracks. I don't recall seeing a single reference to the DI in any of the scenes involving the Barracks.
Also, it's been 3 years since Locke, etc…
