Last thoughts (or, at least, last posts) on "The End." LOST was just a grown up version of "Sesame Street." Take an otherwise normal-seeming locale which seems not to connect to the outside world, fill it with an ethnicly and otherwise diverse group of people, sprinkle in a monster or two, a big beloved audience surrogate who sees and talks to someone no one else can, someone who lives under a hatch to an unseen environment, etc., etc. Intersperse this story with fascinating, amusing, and sometimes bizarre or fantastic clips about numbers, opposites, foreign languages, etc. With me so far on this belabored comparison? My problem with the ending of LOST is that it was all street, no clips. So why did we ever have them?

It's not that I needed "every little answer," but basically, you could have left out seasons 2 through 5; they are all--now--just what my partner calls "Scooby Doo." I don't care about trivia and texture like Annie, the Hurley Bird, Juliet's brand, etc., etc., (although they are fun and interesting to consider.)BUT, this is a fictional creation, and as such, should have (or at least was presented as having) some structure. For several seasons we were asked to value the importance of many topics that now apparently are irrelevant. "Special" Walt? The importance of Aaron? Women unable to have babies on the island? Hanso? Dharma? Why was Richard testing Locke? Egyptian motifs? Time travel? "There is a war coming"? Widmore? Eloise? Black and …
Another Jacob question....
So, if Jacob can "come back to life" (be visible to everyone) by having his ashes put into a fire, why did Ilana--who insisted on having his ashes--not just thrown them into the nearest fire? She seemed like she was always looking for answers ("Richard knows what to do...." etc), but could have gotten them right from the source. Surely she must have known WHY she needed the ashes or what they could do?
Help with Jacob, please!
Ben killed Jacob. So, I'll accept that only Hurley could see dead Jacob, since we know Hurley sees dead people. And I'll go with that by burning the ashes, everyone can see dead Jacob until the fire goes out. But can anyone explain how teenage Jacob fits into all this?
What Locke says in the hospital
Not to create another "did Keamy say 'island'?" debate, but I distinctly heard (and reviewed several times to check) Locke say "Boone" as the first thing he mutters in the hospital as Jack is standing by, but have not seen anyone else mention it and have had it deleted a couple times off the principal episode page. Can anyone back me up?
