After having just re-watched the pilot episode, I find an amazing similarity between the sounds made by the smoke monster (as it first reveals itself to everyone on the beach) and the sounds of destruction at the Swan station during the Incident (in the Season 5 finale). Is this just a coincidence? At one point, Rose even says that it sounded familiar to her. Although Smokey's "introduction" also includes other sounds, the dominant sounds were crunching metal and sirens. Rose's memory seems odd to me, though, because she was not shown at the Swan or in Dharmaville.
