"Together or Not Together" is an orchestral piece on the Season 5 soundtrack. It plays as Ajira Flight 316 takes off.
Scene description[]
Jack asks Hurley how he came to get a ticket on Ajira Flight 316, and Hurley avoids the question. They board and see Kate and Sayid. Ben boards, late, upsetting Hurley, and their confrontation confuses a flight attendant. Jack asks him what will happen to the other passengers, Ben replies with "Who cares?"
The flight takes off. Jack sits by Kate and comments on the situation's absurdity.

The piece uses the main theme and the home theme.
Title significance[]
Right after the piece plays, Jack tells Kate he's amazed they're together on the same flight. Kate, though, says they're merely sharing a flight, not "together." It plays off of the famous quote from the Shakespeare play Hamlet "To be or not be".
