"The Hunt" is an orchestral piece on the Season 2 soundtrack. Its theme - two short phrases, descending then ascending - plays during several finale action sequences.
Main appearance[]
Sayid enters the decoy village. He enters several huts and finds them empty. He finally opens The Door and finds nothing but rock beyond.
The excursion members, meanwhile, come upon the Pearl's dump site, with no knowledge of its significance. They notice Sayid's smoke signal miles away, and Jack concludes Michael is misleading them. An electric dart hits Sawyer, who goes down. Hurley ducks for cover, shielding his neck. Kate goes down next, and Jack starts shooting randomly until he is hit. The Others put hoods of the four of them and take them away. ("Live Together, Die Alone, Part 2")

Influences[]
The first movement begins with the Others' main motif before leading into Ben's theme. The second movement begins with the third traveling theme before leading into its own theme.
Variations[]
"Dharma Disaster", "Keamy Away from Him" and "Looking Glass Half Full" use the theme from "The Hunt".
