The Cabin

Jacob's house appears to be an old house somewhere on the island. It was first introduced in "The Man Behind the Curtain". The house exterior appears marred by age and only harbors a lantern for light. Ben, when visiting Jacob, explains that there are no lights because Jacob hates technology. Inside, there is a rocking-chair in which Jacob sits, painting supplies, six jars of colored liquid, a picture of a dog, and a table. Locke shows disbelief that anyone actually lives here other than in Ben's mind, but the room suddenly shakes and windows smash as though there were a presence in the house. For a split second, a man, presumably Jacob, can be seen.

Shortly before arriving at the house, Ben and Locke cross a line of gray ash or dirt. Locke is curious, stooping to pick some up and even smelling it, but Ben urges him to continue onward.
