Mother Swan and her three baby swans are swimming through the river to the song ''The Blue Danube''. Young Daffy (the ugly duckling) tries to keep up with them only to be stopped by Mother Swan because of his looks. The Vulture then flies down the river and takes each swan, one by one, but rejects young Daffy. Daffy puts on a sign that reads "Rejected [[4]]F".

When the Mother Swan realizes her babies are gone missing she desperately starts to look for them everywhere, but fails to find them. Baby Daffy finds the three baby swans and rescues them, killing the Vulture in the process. In the aftermath the Vulture can be seen in a typical angel costume - white robes, a pair of wings, a halo and a harp.

The Blue Danube in "Every Man for Himself"

In "Every Man for Himself", the Others made Jack watch The Blue Danube, the second part of the Looney Tunes cartoon A Corny Concerto. The cartoon, a parody of Disney's Fantasia casting Daffy Duck as the ugly duckling, was released on September 25, 1943. It features An Der Schönen Blauen Donau (The Blue Danube), a waltz by Johann Strauss, Jr..

This cartoon also plays in "Moving Day", the third episode of J.J. Abrams's What About Brian.
