• created this infobox for crew, as the crew also tend to have IMDB entries, and photos of many of these people exist.
  • just copied from {{Template:Infobox Cast}} with the following changes:
    • Changed character to job. This is not ideal, as we don't yet have article nor categories for roles such as "writer", "producer", "director", "casting agent" etc., but maybe this will be an impetus for that.
    • Changed category tags from cast to crew
    • Retained: DOB and place of birth, although this stuff is probably difficult to dig up on crew. Might consider deleting these.

  • Why no links for jobs? These will get filled in quickly enough. Dmuk § 13:17, 16 June 2006 (PDT)
there were links there - to pages like Producer, Writer, etc., but there wasn't much info on those pages, so they got deleted. things like director and writer should really be categories, not pages, imo. besides, making the link automatic could be messy, if, say, we had a crew member who was the only janitor on set, you'd have to create a Janitor page, the only content of which would be one name, or else leave a red link in the infobox. it's just as easy to specify a link on a crewmember's page as it is in the template, really. kaini. 13:24, 16 June 2006 (PDT)
I suppose, though I usually look in the infobox first. It's true that there can be a lot of crew, but the key folks are the ones I'd be interested in, not the grips!  ;-) Dmuk § 13:32, 16 June 2006 (PDT)
p.s. There is enough intelligence in the template scripting language to pick out the correct (sub-)categories from the keywords entered. Dmuk § 13:34, 16 June 2006 (PDT)
