Hurley - I'm sorry I went with Locke

Did we ever find out why Hurley was sorry he went with Locke instead of Jack? We've seen everything that happened on the island after that point, and it would seem Locke was right about the Freighter people, so why did Hurley say this to Jack? --Jackdavinci 08:55, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Maybe because they were good friends up until that point, and when Hurley chose to go with Locke it was like ending their friendship, every time they meet after this there is always an awkwardness between them. --Lankeymarlon 11:00, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

After watching this again, I am still baffled, mainly because immediately after apologizing, Hurley contradicts the apology by saying that they never should have left the Island, which really means that Hurley actually does not think he should have gone with Jack which nullifies the apology that starting the whole strange conversation! I have to chalk this up, unfortunately to being yet another loose thread left dangling as a result of the shortened season by the WGA strike. Darlton promised a lot of things about season four, and we know that they understandably were never able to get to certain story lines, some that were promised at press conferences or interviews.

Considering that this was the season premiere, they had the whole season ahead of them to show exactly why Hurley apologized. It was a classic set-up for a Lost cliffhanger. It seemed like there would be a pay-off at the end of the season, but there was not. All evidence points to the shortened season forcing the real reason behind this apology to the paper shredder in the writer's room. They simply could not fit this particular loose thread (a relatively minor one at that) into a truncated season.--Japhy Ryder 08:17, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

I think it was just that he should've stayed with Jack to help him believe. Hurley never had second thoughts about the island. i thought that was rather obvious, but its all good. it'd be similar if Charlie said that he's sorry he died. he knew he had to die, to let Desmond go from having to save him over and over again, but he's still sorry that he had to leave his friend Hurley. Jack flashforward

I realize that this episode is Hurley-centric, but I think it should be mentioned that there is one Jack flashforward in the episode. This would be consistent with articles such as Dave (episode), which lists both Hurley's and Libby's flashbacks. Gefred7112 02:21, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Randy Nations

It has been noted that Randy Nations appears briefly holding a video camera recording Hurley's capture at the end of his car chase, but it looks like he also appears as Hurley's opponent in Connect 4 at Santa Rosa just before the introduction of Matthew Abaddon. Once in an episode it may be trivia but twice?
