Uh, didn't I create this page? --SilvaStorm

Well I definitely made this page, unless you made a page under a different spelling that I don't know about... EDIT: Just scanned through your user contribution history, and no you didn't. You may have created a link to it, but I made the page --Nickb123 (Talk) 05:06, 7 July 2006 (PDT)
Okay, thanks for the clarification. It must've been a link I made. --SilvaStorm

Yeah I checked out the Hibbs page and you did make a link to it, from which I made the page cause no-one else had made it --Nickb123 (Talk) 05:18, 7 July 2006 (PDT)

I have to say, I think the Tampa Job is the single-most overrated throwaway mention on the show. To my mind, it's nothing, just part and parcel of Sawyer's career as a con man, but everyone else is SOOOO obsessed with it. It drives me crazy, but I think it's basically become so popular that the writers are going to have to deal with it, even if they weren't originally planning to do so. The best part of it for me, is that in combination with "Tallahassee" and Carl Hiaasen in general, is that it gives us a good sense of Sawyer the con man having a lot of material to work with in Florida and running many of his cons there. Anyway. [/rant] ;P Jengod 13:34, 10 July 2006 (PDT)

Funny, but 441 does not go through the town of Sawgrass. It runs from Leesburg through Orlando to West Palm Beach. However, it does go through a place called Sawgrass Slough west of Palm Bay. So I guess that's where the money was! --Pedxing 10:10, 13 November 2006 (PST)

Kevin Callis[]

  • Please stop editing in that he was a police officer for Tampa. AndFound is correct, he was a Miami police officer, he was only looking at IRs in the other city on his computer. --PandoraX 19:40, 3 March 2007 (PST)

More Than a Throwaway..[]

"I have to say, I think the Tampa Job is the single-most overrated throwaway mention on the show."

This is not just a throwaway for one reason: it's an opportunity to see Nathan Fillion in this show again. Probably a Sawyer-centric episode and probably in season four at the earliest, but it means Fillion may have met both Kate and Sawyer and that could make for a very interesting connection. Especially if, like Penelope, Kevin develops a strong desire to find the love of his life. -- ZachsMind

Relevance?[]

Most of this article is speculation and theories, and thus belong in the article's theory page. Right? Pierre80 02:51, 4 January 2008 (PST)

Sawyer's incarceration[]

Sawyer was probably incarcerated in a Florida prison based on Agent Freedman's visitor's badge ("State of Florida, Department of Corrections, Visitor"), but he was there because Cassidy turned him in for conning her, not as was implied in this article for some unnamed crime or because of any first-hand knowledge of Munson's money (Munson revealed the location to Sawyer). The statement "Furthermore, Sawyer told Warden Harris that Munson's money was "off 441 in Sawgrass", a location in central Broward County, Florida" has no bearing on a job committed in Tampa, as Wikipedia shows Tampa's location in the midwestern part of Florida in Hillsborough County, not in the southeastern part of Florida in Broward County. ---- LOSTonthisdarnisland 02:37, 30 April 2008 (PDT)

Adrift[]

  • Originally, a flashback story was written and shot for Sawyer in "Adrift", in which Sawyer goes to Florida and falls in love with Jolene Blalock's character, who he is conning, but it was apparently was absolutely horrible so they got rid of it. Reported as being said by Damon and Carlton at the 2008 screenwriting expo. It apparently would have explained the Tampa Job, but now we will never get the story of it. Reported by IGN and Dark UFO, which I won't link to because the rest is full of banned spoilers, but I hope that this background information is okay. --corvus_lizard 13:16, 16 November 2008 (PST)
  • Go ahead and add the date and title of the blog posts, and the name of the blogs. Also, if the screenwriting expo has a URL, please add that. Thanks a lot, this is fun information. -- Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯  Talk  13:22, 16 November 2008 (PST)
