Lost is the best serie i´have ever seen in my life for sure
Tailenders to Tailies[]
The producers called them "Tailies" according to this page, Hurley referred to them as such in an episode; I don't know where you get "Tailenders," but as best I can figure, they are Tailies. Unless you have a really good reason, I think it should stay "Tailies." -Platypus Man | Talk 16:18, 11 May 2006 (PDT)
- Also, "Tailies" is just as formal as "Tailenders." If we wanted to be formal, we would call them all "Tail Section Survivors" and have the page there. -Platypus Man | Talk 15:01, 13 May 2006 (PDT)
- I have now gone through "What links here" and changed almost all pages that linked to "Tailenders" to "Tailies." For some reason, all episodes for season 2 are still listed as linking there (nowhere on the page, though). I could not edit the Main Page, Template:FrontPageNavigator, or Body Count and I did not edit someone else's post on Talk:The Tail Section or ZachsMind's user page. I waited a few days to do this, in case someone had any objections. No one spoke up, so I went along with it. -Platypus Man | Talk 15:01, 13 May 2006 (PDT)
- I'm neutral on the topic, but I did change the instances on the locked pages you mentioned. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 15:08, 13 May 2006 (PDT)
- Thanks. For some reason, like I said, all of the season 2 episodes and the main page are still listed as linking there, without the link existing. -Platypus Man | Talk 15:20, 13 May 2006 (PDT)
- I'm neutral on the topic, but I did change the instances on the locked pages you mentioned. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 15:08, 13 May 2006 (PDT)
Another Tailie[]
Hm, in the Orientation episode, when Jin, Michael and Sawyer get captured by the Tailenders (around Minute 1:50), there are Eko, Ana-Lucia, Libby, Cindy and another person i can't identify (it's not Bernard!) on the left. Who is this person (it can't be seen some seconds later when the Tailenders are walking through the jungle)? Seems to be a little mistake... Or should there be another Theory about that ;)? --Soul Provider 09:11, 5 June 2006 (PDT)
You're right! There's even a second unknown person, that's seen dragging Michael. --Peephole 12:38, 5 June 2006 (PDT)
Strange.
he looks like goodwin ^^ anyway , just an error. Cool Man 0912 01:45, 27 December 2006 (PST)
Actually, there is just one other tailie, it is the same one--Phil 10:49, 13 February 2007 (PST)
It IS Bernard. Sam Anderson wasn't cast until "Everybody Hates Hugo" so this guy is just some extra who's a stand-in for Bernard, because the role hadn't been cast yet, okay? User:Remus Lupin 17:35, 8 march 2007
1[]
1 more tail section survivor. The thing Talk 11:35, 28 June 2006 (PDT)
The survivors on the page are 23,not 22.There is one unnamed background character more!
Uknown Survivors names[]
2 of the other survivors that were taken on day 12 were called Ralph and Richard--Phil 12:13, 3 December 2006 (PST)
No, actually those are the names of two of the middle section survivors. They were recruited by Bernard to help make the SOS sign in 2x19. We appreciate the attempt to help, though. --Aero*Zeppelin 12:34, 3 December 2006 (PST)
Tailie @ the others?[]
first 2 screenshots from LTDA , third from other 48 days. is that the same guy? Cool Man 0912 09:24, 26 December 2006 (PST)
Pictures?[]
How did you dicide that Eli and Jim were those two background characters, there names are only mentioned. Jim and Eli could be the two others for all we know. User:LostCloverfield42
pictures of tailies[]
I added the pictures of the 2 tailie men with the green shirt and the yellow shirt and set them as "unknown" along with Eli, Jim etc. because they could actually be seen being kidnapped and carried away in the episode The Other 48 Days. --Mistertrouble189 16:59, 19 June 2008 (PDT)
More Survivors on the page[]
The survivors on the page are 23,not 22.There is one unnamed background character more! --ThunderWolf 18:16, 29 June 2008 (PDT)ThunderWolf--ThunderWolf 18:16, 29 June 2008 (PDT)
Background extras[]
- RE: Yellow shirt, green shirt et cetera: In general, background extras really need to go in a separate section of the table or article. In general extras are not relevant to storyline, and this would make the distinction (and any possible exceptions) clearer to the reader. As a reminder, anyone who is not officially listed in the ABC Medianet episode credits (see episode infobox) falls under this category. We could also put a "main|" template link to Background cast/tailies in this subsection or table. -- Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯ Talk 16:29, 29 June 2008 (PDT)
Extra survivor identified[]
There are 23 listed, which is one too many. It's easy to see why: there are three pictures without names and two names without pictures. We don't know what names go with what pictures, but (at least) one of the pictures has to go with one of the names.--FlyingArrow 17:18, 4 July 2008 (PDT)
- There are now 22 people listed. The "Man on beach" probably died before Day 5 because he isn't seen past Day 1. --Ryan76el 02:49, 5 July 2008 (PDT)
- Most likely.--Mistertrouble189 09:14, 5 July 2008 (PDT)
What happened to captured tailies?[]
Could someone explain what is the status of captured survivors from Ana Lucia's group? All the article states is that they were captued by The Others. Is it known whether they joined them or are still kept by force?? If they joined The Others, how were they pesuaded to do so??—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mr Important (talk • contribs) .
- Don't forget to sign posts! And to be honest, we don't know what happened to most of the tailies or why they were chosen (Goodwin said they were 'good' people, but what does that mean?) nor do we know how they were persuaded to join the Others or if they're kept under force. Some theorize that they were brainwashed to join them (via the Room 23).The only people confirmed to join the Others are flight attendant Cindy Chandler, the siblings Zach and Emma and then 2 men (number 8 and 9 on the background cast/others page) as they are seen living and working with them comfortably. As for the other tailies (Nancy, German Tailender and the rest of them), we don't know what happened to them but we presume they're alive and well with the Others. But for the chart, we have Cindy and her four co-tailies listed as alive and as for the other tailies who were taken but not seen in any later episode as unknown because we're just not sure what's their fate.--Mistertrouble189 22:11, 11 October 2008 (PDT)

Number of survivors[]
The Lost Encyclopedia seems to indicate that there were 24 survivors from the tail section, not including Goodwin. ("Twenty-three passengers either swam or washed up alive on the beach, while one man, Bernard Nadler landed in a tree still strapped into his seat.")
Where did we get the original 22/23 numbers from? Was it specified somewhere, or was this a matter of counting the actors on-screen? I can't find any mention of a survivor count in the transcript for "The Other 48 Days". --Cap'n Calhoun 17:01, October 20, 2010 (UTC)
- I think it was Libby's statement in "Everybody Hates Hugo" that there were 23 survivors, but this apparently included Goodwin. I think all the kidnappings and deaths in "The Other 48 Days" do equal 22, not including Goodwin = the main 4 (Ana, Libby, Eko, Bernard), Cindy, Nathan, 3 were taken the first night, 9 were taken on the twelth night, and the fact that Donald was the "fourth to go". Therefore, 22. There could have been additional deaths after Donald, but it seems unlikely since these were never referred to. >: 4 8 15 16 23 42 17:12, October 20, 2010 (UTC)
