  • Could someone make a side-by-side montage image of the Wookie prisoner gag, comparing the real one from star wars, with a parallel image from "Not in Portland"? This would be a nice intro image for the top of the article. -- Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯  Talk  04:52, 8 February 2007 (PS

Daddy Issues[]

Luke was told his father was a "navigator on a spice freighter," not a dead war hero, as this article suggests. I honestly have no clue what Leia thought of her birth father, or if she even knew she was adopted. But that statement definitely needs to be revised; I'm just not sure how. It's still a valid point. The Flame[]

The dish in The Flame station blowing up seems reminiscent of the deflector shield station blowing up in Return of the Jedi. Can I just add this to the list, or does it have to be confirmed by the writers? Burnside65|talk|contributions 07:47, 12 June 2008 (PDT)

Locke Anakin similarity[]

I am unsure if this should be posted as a Star Wars tie in. I noticed that both Locke and Anakin have a cross like scratch over their right eyes. Any opinions on this??? Anakin [1] Locke [2]--Kansasgal71 10:24, 16 July 2008 (PDT)

Love Triangle[]

Could the love triangle between Kate, Jack and Sawyer be parallel to the love triangle between Leia, Luke and Han Solo?

Cleanup[]

Alright, I think it's time to determine what is a "true" reference compared to coincidence:

  • Charlotte is in Tunisia, which is where the footage for Tatooine was filmed.
    • So, Lost takes place in one of many locations were Star Wars movies were filmed. But as we know of "There's No Place Like Home, Part 2" and "The Shape of Things to Come" Tunisia has importance to Lost mythology and I doubt it was selected merely because it's where Star Wars were filmed. After all, Star Wars movies were filmed in London, England as well. Does that mean all London appearances in Lost are there simply because of its Star Wars history? Not a direct reference => to be removed.
  • Dr. Rob Hamill's last name may be a reference to Mark Hamill, the actor who played Luke Skywalker.
    • Alright, then I suspect James Ford was named so because of Harrison Ford who played Han Solo? Please, he's not Doctor Skywalker, which would be a direct reference indeed.
  • Peter Mayhew portrayed Chewbacca in the Star Wars trilogy of movies. Both Chewbacca and Mayhew of the freighter crew were mercenaries, so this may be a connection between the two.
    • Same as above. When Sawyer calls Jin Chewbacca it is an obvious reference to SW. But when a character's last name is the same as the name of an actor who played in SW, it should not be viewed as a reference (unless confirmed by some source of course). BTW, Chewie was'n a mercenary, he's a smuggler :)

I'm removing all this "references". It's not the same as Millenium Faclon toy on screen, it is a mere coincidence or assumption made by fans. Malachi 13:40, 21 June 2008 (PDT)

Ben[]

"Both have "super powers" of some sort."

  • Darth Vader is very good in Force using and light saber battling.
  • Ben have connection wth the Island and is a very, very good liar and manipulator.
Not sure how old the entry is, but Ben's now been shown to have had almost nil 'connectivity' with the Island, apart from a dunk in the Sping. Certainly nothing Vader-comparable, or he would've popped the leg iron off on his own. ;) Duncan905 01:42, March 22, 2010 (UTC)
