YEEEAH BOY! SEASON 3 IS COMING! DeGroot

Personally, I'm not that happy about it. I'd like closure. I suppose it's good that it's going along because it means we can have more intricate plots, twists and greater character development. But I do dislike waiting. I never watch more than one TV show, so I guess I'll be going back to Smallville after next week.

I hope season 3 will be the last, it sucks when good shows get drawn out (like Smallville). --Rayne 15:27, 21 May 2006 (PDT)

Same here, hoping that season 3 will be the last... I could live with an open ending or that they even stay on the island, just not being stuffed with waiting for answers on big questions -- Bramme 15:34, 21 May 2006 (PDT)

Hopefully LOST can continue a strong run just like 24 is doing now. I wouldn't mind a Season 4. DeGroot 20:30, 22 May 2006 (PDT)

As long as they continue to work "within the mythology" and explain what's happening without creating new plotlines that contradict events that have gone before (no 'it was all Hurley's delusion', please) then I'm OK with it going on for a goodly long time. Concluding with a decent amount of closure (cf. the Alias finale) is a very classy way to finish; getting yanked by the network with the remaining episodes un-aired (cf. Kitchen Confidential) is not. Dmuk § 12:51, 28 May 2006 (PDT)

This won't be the last season, they have already written the 5th season. LostRoland 13:50, 2 June 2006 (PDT)

Really? I'm up for stealing the notes from wherever they've been hidden...Any takers?--Jujo 07:55, 8 June 2006 (PDT)
Where did you here this? The podcast said they write one every eight days while the episodes are airing. Now that it is summer they probably are slowing their pace down. I would't be suprised if they haven't wrote the first six episodes of Season 3 yet.--CaptainInsano
I think LostRoland is referring to a statment made by either Abrams or Lindelof (can't remember which) between seasons 1 & 2 that they have an outline for a story arc that runs for 4 seasons. From the sound of it, they have a vague notion of where this is all going and an endgame in mind, but they are fleshing it out and changing things on-the-fly as they go along (like making Henry a major character rather than just a "3 episode and off" character). They don't actually sit down and write episodes that far in advance though. Personally I hope they keep it going for as long as the writing is still good and the story is still fresh...--Isotope23 10:02, 14 June 2006 (PDT)

I am not sure where I read this, but I seem to remember it was from a reliable source.(An interview with someone) Abrams & Lindelof stated that they will leave if ABC tries to extend to 5 seasons.

Days after the crash

Now the infobox about the episode will contain the days that the episode encloses.

Example: in The Other 48 Days the episode shows the days 1 to 48 after the crash.

Please, help me to calculate the days of all episodes

After added days in episodes I will create a Lost timeline

Reruns, Etc

It looks like Day Break is going to stop LOST for 3 months. Damon and Carlton promised a great cliffhanger before it breaks, however. I think this break sucks, but its a lot better than 2 episodes-break-2 episodes-break. 17 straight episodes after sounds good to me. DeGroot

  • Yeah, three months sounds like a long break, but the continuous run of 17 episodes is going to be crazy. Jonathan Fakenham

In the UK we get the whole, uninterupted series in one go, but we have to wait a hell of a lot longer than everyone else! Season 2 has just finished in the US and Season 2 Episode 6 has only just been shown here.--LostCat 12:36, 28 May 2006 (PDT)

i would rather have it all in one go it think, probably because i am used to it, they did a huge break with planet earth and it sucks, i was just getting into it and then u have to wait - Mikey - "so emo, it hurts 05:25, 31 May 2006 (PDT)

Conflicting launch dates

Wikipedia says that the third season launches October 4th, who got it right? --Jambalaya 12:07, 28 May 2006 (PDT)

  • I guess the producers of the show would know best, and they said late September on the post-finale podcast, just days ago. Jonathan Fakenham

"Him"

The 1st episode of S03 is called him according to the same person who spoiled the finale for me 3 weeks before it aired and gave all the details, (example: libby gives Desmond her boat called "Elizabeth" and asks for money, $42,000 to be exact" so I'm believing him.

The producers will announce S03E01's title VERY soon. It will kinda, you know, feed the LOST theorists through the summer, give them something to theorise about and talk about. It's basically a cliffhanger.

Personally, I think "He" is Alvar Hanso or DeGroot. I would suspect that "He" wouldnt be an evil man. As the Others aren't and faux Henry Gale referred to him as 'Great' It would have to be someone great and knowing the LOST writing style it will be someone that will make us go "WOW!" and stay fans over the 3-month break.

  • Now, here's a thought. Season one started with Jack, and was about the fuselage survivors and who they all were. Season two started with Desmond the hatch-dweller, and focused pretty much on the Dharma Initiative and the hatch. So, both seasons so far have started from a fresh character's POV and that character has been important and emblematic of the season as a whole. We know season three is going to be all about "the others" (i.e. Not-Henry, Zeke, and the bunch), so my guess is S3E01 is starting from the POV of an "other", most possibly a new guy we haven't seen so we don't instantly recognize him as such. To take that strain of thought a bit further, how about if that character is then revealed as Him just before the screetching Lost-credits appear? Now I'm totally rambling, but this sounds like a very cool idea. Jonathan Fakenham
  • Michael Emerson is confirmed to be a regular in Season 3, so maybe it will be from Fake Henry's point of view. --Kahlfin 21:18, 28 May 2006 (PDT)
  • Personally, I wouldn't mind learning a bit more about Alex. I nominate her for POV for Season 3, especially if she can sneak out every now and then and interact with the Survivors--Jujo 07:57, 8 June 2006 (PDT)

Is it me or does Christian Shepherd look very similar to Alvar Hanso? Could they be one in the same? Could they be Him? DeGroot

Yeah, they sure could. But why would Alvar Hanso need to work as a drunk doctor if he's such a big-shot corporation founder? ;D Jonathan Fakenham
  • Personally, I think that "Him" will be the person that links Jack, Katie and Sawyer and thus will give the answer to the question "Why Jack, Katie and Sawyer"? Perhaps Charles Widmore? The real "Sawyer"? Hurley (but he doesn't know it as he's gone mad)? Kelvin (not really dead)? Radzinsky (again not really dead)? The options are endless are we are bound to be surprised! --ActiveValue 06:10, 31 May 2006 (PDT)

There is of course an outside opportunity that 'Him' could actually have been the fake Henry. He seemed to be in control of what was going on at Pala Ferry, Alex looked extremely worried(it appears she seems to have a soft spot for the survivors as shown in Claire's episode and 'Three Minutes') and even Tom/Mr.Friendly didn't come across as his cocky self when talking to Henry. Well, it's either that or he's the right hand man to 'Him'(explaining why he alone was possibly trusted to kidnap Locke...if that is true!) Xander Gonzo

Titles?

  • 03x01 The Road Less Traveled - 4. October 2006:

Flashback: Jack Shephard

  • 03x02 Somewhere Only We Know - 11. October 2006:

Flashback: Kate Austen

  • 03x03 Scorched - 18. October 2006:

Flashback: James "Sawyer" Ford

  • 03x04 Was Blind, But Now I See - 25. October 2006:

Flashback: Mr. Eko Tundi

  • 03x05 Buried Alive - 1. November 2006

Flashback: John Locke

  • 03x06 The Way We Were - 8. November 2006

Flashback: Tom "Zeke" Patterson"

A lot of these titles are lyrics ofsongs and titles of movies. Somewhere Only We Know is a song by Keane(Not sure on spelling). The Road Less Traveled is an old country song. The Way We Were is so much a chick flick they mention it on Sex and The City. Was Blind, But Now I See are words from Amazing Grace (that probably would make sense though cause Eko is a priest). I don't know anything about Scorched and Buried Alive, but they sound like they could be hardcore rock songs.--CaptainInsano

I heard about this too.--=Lost=Roland2-Hey 13:10, 14 June 2006 (PDT)

Buried Alive is a biography of Janis Joplin, written by Myra Friedman in 1979. (Although a search on Amazon turned up 4 albums by that name.) No clue about "Scorched" -- Llywrch 13:26, 14 June 2006 (PDT)
  • Should these episode titles even be in the article? It seems they have appeared out from thin air? --Jambalaya 13:01, 16 June 2006 (PDT)

The word Scorched shows up in a lot of song titles. Example: Tales of a Scorched Earth - Smashing Pumpkins --Aero*Zeppelin 19:14, 16 June 2006 (PDT)

source on the titles?

they're plausible, but things like the misspelt poe reference (it's quoth, not quote) make me sorta skeptical --kaini. 20:44, 16 June 2006 (PDT)

I got the titles from Wikipedia (yes, I know it's not the most reliable source, but since we're talking specuklation and theories here, I think it's worth putting those titles up or not, even though we know that the information probably isn't true.

However, on the Wikipedia page for Season 3, it goes into such depth, such as listing the directors and writers for each episode. This is probably all speculation, and the fact that if Paterson was Mr. Friendly's last name, they wouldn't say it until it's confirmed on screen (like with Desmond).

Either way, this is what we have for now.

--Aero*Zeppelin 22:38, 16 June 2006 (PDT)

the titles must be on an official site , how should he otherwise get the names (well , it could be a fake). the titles from season 2 were discoverd short before the episode aired , why now they tell them so early? --Cool Man 0912 05:33, 17 June 2006 (PDT)

There's no titles on the Wikipedia article any more, there's just the "Season 3 Premiere - Title TBA".[1] Unless some one comes up with a reliable source, the titles listed on LostPedia should be removed. --Jambalaya 09:50, 17 June 2006 (PDT)

in addition to the above, shouldn't there be a frogurt flashback in here somewhere? pretty damn fishy... kaini. 11:05, 17 June 2006 (PDT)

Well, can we at least put them on the talk page for future reference in case some of them come true? They seem like good titles, and it might be helpful to archive some of them without saying it's set in stone. Either way, I'm adding them here, since that may be the only suitable place for them now. --Aero Zeppelin 11:27, 18 June 2006 (PDT)

Those are in no chance the episodes. They said the main characters will have less flashbacks and the background characters will have some.--CaptainInsano

Unconfirmed Episode Titles

  • Break
  • Light At The End of The Tunnel

Michael in Season 3?

I read that Michael wouldn't be back at all in season 3 (I'll look for confirmation), which would mean that they probably wouldn't deal with Walt's growth-spurt either. Has anyone heard this? --Señor Eko 18:43, 18 June 2006 (PDT)

he should appear like walt in season 2... maybe we see the walt story in a flashback from an other...--Cool Man 0912 04:57, 19 June 2006 (PDT)

New Titles

Are the new titles confirmed? Cool Man 0912 06:12, 25 June 2006 (PDT)

I don't believe any of this. Like you said earlier, how can they tell us them all now when titles went unconfirmed until the week before they were shown in season 2. I'd also bet that there will be an Alex Rousseau flash back in the REAL season 3. --LostCat 07:03, 25 June 2006 (PDT)

  • And, supposedly, there is going to be a Frogurt flashback somewhere in there too. --LOCI! 12:54, 29 June 2006 (PDT)
  • It would look logic, only to find there's no Sayid flashback and one for Rose and Bernard, who aren't even a regular and most likely aren't going to become one either. --TPIMaster 13:29, 29 June 2006 (PDT)
  • Cool Man 0912, the title of the section is Unconfirmed Titles, no they aren't the real titles and TPIMater the producers said that most of the flashbacks back will be focusing on minor characters, so it is possible to have a Rose and Bernard and not a Sayid. Basically saying those aren't, and never will be, the episodes.--CaptainInsano
I'm tempted to give you a vandal award over on wiki, GEoH ;) --kaini. 19:19, 19 July 2006 (PDT)

Episodic Information

why was it removed? it is part of what we know about next season.. its on spoilerfix! -brianopp 11:47, 22 July 2006 (PDT)

And its from Carlton so we know its true -brianopp 11:48, 22 July 2006 (PDT)
I removed it because it had no useful info what so ever.--CaptainInsano
It says that they are going to discuss some of the capture story -brianopp 11:51, 22 July 2006 (PDT)
It says the same exact thing below were it was--CaptainInsano
But not specifically when it will be dealt with. -brianopp 11:53, 22 July 2006 (PDT)
It is common knowledge--CaptainInsano
They did not discuss the raft story at the begining of season 3. -brianopp 11:55, 22 July 2006 (PDT)
Stop PMSing.--CaptainInsano
Happy, I added it. You don't need to make a whole section about it. Think before you do--CaptainInsano
Personal attacks are uncalled for. -brianopp 12:26, 22 July 2006 (PDT)
Bitching is uncalled for as well.--CaptainInsano
Then why are you still doing it? -brianopp 17:57, 24 July 2006 (PDT)
