I propose changing the style of the 'topics' from

  • I propose this be named to "Relationships" because this page a listing of all the relationships in LOST, not necessarily those which have had issues. So, "Relationships" will be more appropriate than the current title. --   Lost Soul   talk  contribs  04:00, 14 January 2007 (PST)
Rename No need for the word 'issues' in the title. --James W. 17:35, 23 January 2007 (PST)
Rename This is just a relationships list really. --Blueeagleislander 17:15, 25 January 2007 (PST)
    • I agree that this title would better convey the current content, but maybe we just need to prune the content instead, and only include true relationship issues. Another proposal in the next section (but please chime in if you disagree).--Dagg 14:48, 16 January 2007 (PST)

Use a simple list, and only include "issues"[]

I propose to make this page a simple list, like the Parent issues page. References to relationship issues could be sorted by episode, and sectioned by season.

Also, we should define what a "relationship" is? I propose to only include references that refer to "failed romantic love". This is somewhat subjective, but might be a good start. --Dagg 14:48, 16 January 2007 (PST)

  • I think the page is going to be super-huge if the whole thing is changed to use sectionboxes. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if it stopped working properly (like Secrets which had to be split up, and like World locations which is broken still).-- Dagg talk contribs4 8 16:40, 25 January 2007 (PST)
  • Nah, put it into section boxes, as it is. --Blueeagleislander 17:15, 25 January 2007 (PST)

Added Desmond[]

Not sure why Desmond was not there before, his relationship with Penny is a central part of his story. I added pre-crash stuff and post-crash because their relationship does continue indirectly during the Season 2 finale. Voodoo 20:21, 2 April 2007 (PDT)

could we add a list of friendships as well? as in Jin and Michael and Kate and Sun and Charlie and Hurley?--Tylerr395 08:04, 5 June 2007 (PDT)

  • I think perhaps this would be too difficult, and there would be controversiety over who is friends with who. Mia 21:05, 8 October 2007 (PDT)

Sayid & Elsa[]

They also had a relationship,I know Sayid kills her, but they still were a couple.

Nikki and Paulo[]

They need to be added to the before and after crash sections.

Juliet and Goodwin[]

Should a kissing picture from "The Other Woman" be uploaded and their history edited?

I'm going to rewrite some of the prose for this article. Some of it seems non-canon to me, and overall, needs updating. --Easter 19:55, 13 April 2008 (PDT)

I think that'd be a very good thing. Also, I find the font a bit too weeny to read easily (although maybe that's just me getting old)!--TechNic|talk|conts 21:28, 13 April 2008 (PDT)
I agree with you on the type size. :) It's small for me too, but unfortunately, I think the template requires it. Otherwise, this article would be enormous! Still, as I'm rewriting and updating, I'm running into some issues with the organization per character box. For example, for Kate, there's Kevin, Tom and possibly Jason, whom I didn't add, cos it was getting unwieldy, but then should 'said' person be matched up with what episode they were featured in? Right now, episode reference is in chronological order, not paying heed to which episode he or she was referenced in. The details are also in such a way that the primary relationship gets the most TLC. It's not very organized...not sure how to proceed; just fixing the prose for now. Suggestions are much appreciated!--Easter 22:28, 13 April 2008 (PDT)

Sectionbox Color[]

I'll be changing the section box colors to indicate which relationships are dead and which are still thriving (as far as we know...) I'll indicate that on top of the article: blue for dead, green are a go. This just helps differentiate between who's doing what with who currently, and works in tandem with other sectionbox templates like the Rivalries page or A-missions. If anyone doesn't like, please say so below my comment here on the talk page. --Easter 19:27, 4 May 2008 (PDT)

To George Stulak[]

Hey...thanks for correcting all the tense errors in the article. However, I have to delete the bit you've added about what Sawyer whispered in Kate's ear cos that's a possible spoiler, and it's unknown (yet) as to what exactly he told her. Thanks! --Easter 16:46, 19 June 2008 (PDT)

Some changes[]

Remove Jack in Post-Island, because meeting your ex-wife is not a love relationship, a devide Sayid's Post-Island, as he was married to Nadia (which should be dark blue) and only had a minor relationship with Elsa (which should be light blue).--Orhan94 03:21, 28 August 2008 (PDT)

Agreed about removing the box with Jack and Sarah. And again, with Sayid. However, the color indicators are a little tricky; the on-island relationships I've kept dark blue if what occurred in TNPLH ended with the relationship intact, like Des/Pen or Jack/Kate. All of the post-island relationships will be in light blue including Jack/Kate and Sayid's relationships since Nadia is dead, and there is no relationship there to speak of, yeah? However, the descriptions will be updated as Season 5 progresses. I imagine this section will grow quickly as well. I'll make those changes. Thanks, Orhan! --Easter 16:39, 29 August 2008 (PDT)

This article covers only romantic relationships. We cover other relationships elsewhere. --- Balk Of Fametalk 02:40, August 16, 2010 (UTC)

The article currently separates relationships by time period. That might have made sense back when characters had such distinct pre-cash/post-crash lives, arriving on the island tabula rasa. But now we have relationships from before the crash continuing after the crash, relationships before the crash continuing after rescue, relationships on the island continuing post-return and all relationships reappearing in the flash sideways.

Following the new friendship article's creation, I've started making individual relationship pages for characters like this one for Kate. I make templates for friendships and post them to each character's relationship page. I suggest we do the same thing for most of the relationships on this page. So we'll no longer split Sayid and Nadia's relationship into pre-crash and post-crash sections. Instead, we make it into one template and add it to Sayid's relationship page. If we made a page for Nadia (we wouldn't), we'd post it to hers as well. Major relationships, like Jack and Kate's, will get a whole page instead of a template. --- Balk Of Fametalk 05:05, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

I like. If we do this -- judiciously -- we can use the templates to explain things without having disagreement on different pages about the same situations or events.--Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 12:35, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

Link to different character relationship articles from character's navboxes[]

For example, should the {{Nav-Jack}} navbox contain a link to Jack's relationships? Opinions/comments? --  Blackout0189    talk    contribs    email   04:03, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

  • Good call. LOST-Figg 16:05, September 5, 2010 (UTC)
