Dead?[]

"Redfern was hit in the neck with a stun dart, jolting him with a lethal amount of electricity and killing him" How do you know it was lethal? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kangaxx (talkcontribs) .

I'm pretty sure it was lethal. The mercenaries are all dead. You can put that in the Theories section, but otherwise it is safe to assume he is deceased. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 14:43, 19 August 2008 (PDT)
Yeah. It's pretty much confirmed. Interesting theory, though. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  15:17, 19 August 2008 (PDT)

In all fairness, the same thing happened to Sawyer in Season 2, didn't it? I mean, yeah, he probably is dead and all that, I just want to underline the fact that him surviving the stun dart isn't entirely an impossibility. -- User:Benjamin Linus is Not a Horse

I'd like to underline that the other mercenaries were killed brutally by the others, so I'm pretty sure the taser was set to a lethal level. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  17:59, 2 September 2008 (PDT)
Well, that other mecernary, Lacour I think he's called, is given a "Presumed Dead" title, because we never explicitly had it confirmed he died (he just got tripped up) and personally I think Redfern should also be given the "Presumed Dead" title for the time being. -- User:Benjamin Linus is Not a Horse
Look, this is taking the "don't assume anything" title too far. The Others threw grenades, broke necks, and shot Keamy in the back. They wouldn't just let Lacour or Redfern live. We've been given substantial evidence to say that both Lacour and Redfern are dead. Why wouldn't they be? We'll leave it like that, unless in season five or six, they have a big reappearance, which is incredibly unlikely. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  13:23, 3 September 2008 (PDT)
  • Agree Redfern and Lacour are pretty much dead.--Mistertrouble189 14:36, 3 September 2008 (PDT)
  • Actually yeah, I rewatched the finale and when the survivors rendezvous at the helicopter, Sawyer looks at Redfern's dead body and asks Kate if he did something to "tick her off". So, yeah, I was bang-out of order with the Redfern might've survived nonsense. -- User:Benjamin Linus is Not a Horse

Is the henchman really him?[]

I think the henchman in Flash sideways wasn't Redfern, as the two looks completely different, especially their face. However, IMDB listed Redfern as one of the cast member in "The Package", so I assured that he was the henchman. But looks like the information on IMDB may not be true, and the henchman looks like Mayhew more than Redfern. Anyone agree with me? Sroczynski 02:44, October 24, 2011 (UTC)

IMDB is edited by other people. By the way, can you put those pictures by each other, so that I know if I can agree or disagree with you? --Station7 08:50, October 24, 2011 (UTC)

  • I just noticed that who Mayhew really was, what a shame. I used to think Mayhew was the forth one(from left to right) in this photo, but actually that was the extra who played Omar, and Mayhew was the first one. So, the one who looked like the henchman more than Redfern, was actually the extra who played Omar, and not Mayhew. In addition, Mayhew was reminding played by an unknown extra, but the one who played Omar was Bret Hinson. You can see the photos of Bret Hinson on his facebook, and compare with Errol James Snyder who played Redfern: his facebook. You can see, Errol looks nothing like the henchman. Although Bret also had something different with the henchman.Sroczynski 11:47, October 24, 2011 (UTC)
  • Hello LOST Fans, this Errol James Snyder, I also go by EJ Snyder, I AM the Actor who played Redfern. As some of you may know, IMdB is not the easiest to work with when trying to update you resume and credits. Especially background or featured extras when you are "uncredited". I have been fighting them for years on this. You can see pics and info on my IMdB page or FB page. I know each mercenary personally. I was first part of the Russo scene in a gilley suit that took out her and the boyfriend of Ben s daughter. Between Season 4 & 6, I retired from the US Army and moved to NC from Hawaii. When LOST Casting called me to play in the Henchman Scene with Kevin Durand (Keemi) and Anthony Zini (Omar) I was willing but the cost of my travel was more than my pay, so they got a body double to play that scene instead. Since i wore camo on my face most of the show. TRIVA: I also stood in and body doubled for Kevin in several scenes, and in Season 3, I also played a US Marshal. Thx for supporting LOST. • Hi, Errol. It's me who began this talk. I'm wondering these question for a long time actually... If the henchman from season 6 not you, then is that Bret Hinson? Or someone you don't know? What is the full name of the actor who played Kocol? And who played Mayhew? Sroczynski 06:46, January 2, 2012 (UTC)
      • Good questions. We all want some answers if that is possible? :) --Station7 10:14, January 5, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Gang, Redfern (EJ Snyder) here! Well first off, I had retired from the military in the summer of 2009 and moved from Hawaii to North Carolina, for family reasons, before the Season 6 scene was shot. So when they called me to revise my role as Redfern, they were not willing to fly me out to Hawaii from NC due to the cost would be more than my pay, so they actually found a body double who resembled me, but was actually bald. Thus the confusion to think it was Bret because that actor and Bret look very similar, however it was not Bret. Bret was in the Navy and was stationed in Texas right after shooting Season 4. Bret and I were also working on another military independent film "Redlove" simotaenously, where he was THE LEAD, thus he actually was only on the Merc Team for 2 or 3 scenes. Sean Oberous played Cocul and was the only Non-military member of the team. His death scene was played by Mike Trisler, the LOST Stunt Coordinator, LaCour was played by Tony Apalado, who served in the military at one time, and he did his own death scene, as did I. The Mayhew character was played by a former Soldier of mine, but his name eludes me right now. I will try to run it dowm. I posted some pics on my profile page to see. I absolutely love and miss the LOST Cast and Crew. I truly feel privelaged to have been a part of something this special, historic, and epic. I made many friends with the cast and crew that still last today. A special shout out to Jeff Fahey, who is absolutely, top notch actor, patriot, and dear friend to me. Kevin Durand and I are also in close contact. I am equally fond and glad to have gotten to know Michael Emerson, another phenominal and humble actor, who always went the extra mile. Also, glad to see the Post-LOST success many of the Cast & Crew are having. EJS, Redfern out! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Erroljames07 00:49, January 11, 2012 (UTC)Erroljames07Erroljames07 00:49, January 11, 2012 (UTC) (talk • contribs) .

  • I'm glad that you replied, and thanks for giving us information about you guys. But I'm sorry, there's something I still don't understand. First, if this man played Lacour, then how about Tony Wade? I thought it's him who played Lacour, since this guy had uploaded photos of him being Lacour during the finale, and he even explained how Lacour died which was deleted from the episode. Second, who Bret Hinson actually played? Did he played Omar indeed? Or he played another member of the mercenary team? Third and lastly, how did you die on lost actually? As you can see, on the trivia section of Redfern's page, I had put this on for a long time: "According to some behind-the-scenes photos on the actor's facebook, Redfern was being shot in the head and killed, right after he was shot by the stun dart. Since the other characters who being shot by the stun dart, were just unconscious, so it's strange that only Redfern was killed by it. To support this, Redfern was seen being shot in the left side of his head in the photos, and that part of his head was not shown in the episode. Furthermore, if Redfern was indeed killed by the stun dart, his body wouldn't have so much blood on. However, the lost encyclopedia stated that Redfern was killed by the stun dart, so it's unknown how the character was actually killed." This is based on this photo from your facebook. What's going on with the gunshot wound on your head??Sroczynski 10:16, January 10, 2012 (UTC)

Ok gang. If you look at the group pic of the Mercenary Team, Mayhew is to the far left. Still trying to remember his name. Tony wade is Tony Apalado's stage name who played Lacour. Redfern's demise may remain with the mystery of "LOST" as it was intended to be. You are very observant to see the blood, and "NO" it was not Kate who did Redfern in, even though Sawyer eludes to this. I know what they did to me in make up for that end scene before they loaded the helicopter. But not even I know for sure how Redfern came to be this way or who did it. Sorry, but I just don't know this small part of info and missing piece, and I am the guy who played him. I will post a pic or two of me after make up for you. Bret did not play Omar, that was Anthony Zinni (check IMBd LOST Cast Season 4). Erroljames07 00:49, January 11, 2012 (UTC)Errol James SnyderErroljames07 00:49, January 11, 2012 (UTC)

  • That means Bret Hinson didn't play the non-speaking role of Omar in "The Shape of Things to Come" and "Something Nice Back Home", and Bret played another team member? Because people on here had found that Omar wasn't seen when the mercenary team took the injured Mayhew back to the helicopter, so they assured that it's Omar who Bret Hinson played in that scene. I never thought that Bret was playing another team member, as I thought the team had only 6 members: Keamy, Omar, Redfern, Locour, Kocol and Mayhew. So, did Bret's character ever named? And his character died when the freighter exploded?Sroczynski 06:59, January 11, 2012 (UTC)

Omar was Keamy's right hand man. He was Played by an LA Actor, named, Anthony Azizi http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0044318/ and he is the one who was blown up by the grenade. Now he was in LA shooting another show when the village hit scene, smoke monster fight, and jungle extraction scenes were done, but you should assume Omar as the number two guy on the merc team, would be back on the boat preparing things for the next phase of Keamy's operation. Now, as far as keeping regular Featured Extras around, to play part of the Team for continuity, it was just myself, Tony Wade, and Shaun. The others played members of the team without names, as they were slowly killed off, by the Smoke Monster, the others, or were on the freighter when it blew, as you should assume. Bret's character was never named and he was only actually there for two scenes do to filming conflicts with "Redlove", the others worked a few scenes but couldn't comit to see it through to the end. Thus no named characters for them. There is a scene with Keamy on the deck of the freighter target practicing with mercs around him, that looked more like ships crewmen than mercs. They were the first selects for the team, but when I was asked to come in and help with Military Tech Advice, they just had no idea how to portray former military operators. They were in the scene with me where Russo and her group is ambushed, and we wore Ghuille Suits. That was the last filming day before the winter hyaedus. So thus, during the winter break, Casting found other military or former military guys to play mercs on the Team. Mayhew, was dragged by the smoke monster, carried thru the jungle, and brought back to the freighter boat to die. Mayhew was played by a former Staff Sergeant in my old unit, but his name still eludes me. I still owe you that name.
