it is possible that the black smoke is controlled by patchy.

when patchy looked into the camera then turned it off he could of then made the black smoke to go get eko because he knew they were there. also i reckon he was in the monitoring hatch just before locke eko and the other people went in because when they tuned the camera in so it was lookin at him he was staring at the camera straight away as if he knew it was about to come on.

i think he is probably pushing a button somewhere and thinks dharma is still doing whatever they were doing.--—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Luvmojo (talkcontribs) .

Anybody notice that after he shot Sayid, that he was aiming the rifle with the non-existent eye? If he was using his good eye, he would have had the rifle up on his left shoulder.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Spagel (talkcontribs) .

excelent point! (but i think, it´s a blooper)

meat in the refrigerator - others vegetarians

.....why mikhail had a lot of meat in the refrigerator? we saw jack eating cheeseburgers made by juliet, but.....we never saw an "other" eating meat... juliet had made muffins... when ben had a breakfast with kate, it was only full of fruits and coffe... are the "others" vegetarians?--Fuzter lost 13:01, 14 March 2007 (PDT)

Give me a break...that's assuming a lot! Besides, Alex was cooking up a rabbit to give to Karl to eat. Plus, if the others were vegetarians why would they even have hamburger to cook for Jack?

time playing chess

mikhail came to the island "eleven years ago" but he tried to win the chess game since "ten years".. what happened that year, since he arrives, to begin trying to win? --Fuzter lost 13:32, 14 March 2007 (PDT)

Can Patchy ever die?

He seems to be a hard person to kill. I bet he'll be back next season.--|MMORTAL /\LIEN 20:51, 23 May 2007 (PDT)

He reminds me of some corny James Bond villain --Lewis-Talk-Contribs 07:18, 25 May 2007 (PDT)

Andrew Divoff stated that he played the scene in which Mikhail shoots Bea as if they were lovers. If this theory is examined, Bea need not outrank Mikhail in order to explain why she demanded that he kill her and then himself. She gave the reason (to keep Sayid and the others from finding the housing compound) and the commanding tone can be explained by her knowing that it would not be an easy thing for him to murder his lover.

Also, as written on the main bio for Mikhail, the entire story that he gave to Sayid was true with the exception of being a member of DHARMA (according to the official podcast). If this is the case, then there is no reason to speculate as to when he appeared on the island - it was around 1993. This also means that he cannot be one of the original hostiles, if the story he gave was true.

The only part of his story that actually becomes theory is the exact dates of his time with the soviet army and his decommission. The war between the soviets and the mujahadeen was fought between 1979-1989. The cold war is commonly regarded as having ended in 1991. It is fairly safe to assume that his unit would not have been decommissioned until after it had ended. The Soviet Union conscripted men into mandatory military service at age 18 for a minimum of 2 years during the later parts of the cold war, so it can be fairly safely assumed that that was when he began his service. Based upon his year of birth given at 1969, that would mean he likely entered service in 1987, which is in line with the period of time of the aforementioned war. Also, these dates given mean that he was 24 in 1993, so no more than a year could have past between when he responded to the ad and ended up on the island, unless he actually arrived after that year (as it is given that he arrived "around 1993").
