  • Based on the current trend of Ubisoft games, it is likely that the LOST videogame will be a first-person (FarCry) or third-person (Ghost Recon) shooter with exploration and puzzle-solving elements, and will use either a current or revised version of the CryENGINE. The FarCry games already have a look and atmosphere very similar to LOST, so it would only make sense for the developers to use some iteration of it. The game will most likely feature characters from the show (with accompanying voice acting from the cast), or it may focus around a different group of characters previously unseen on the show. Chances are it will feature several recognizable settings from the series, as well as new locations designed specifically for the game.
  • Just a thought, but before season 2, 2 script pages came online, one about Jack's "twin" being on the island, and the other about zombies attacking Michael and Jin. We've already seen the book "Bad Twin" come out in the "Real World", so the script page could be related to the creation of the book. Could the second "zombie" script page subsequently relate to the game? Half Life has appeared and this is also a zombie based game, to an extent. Zombie genre games are also, almost all of the time, FPS or 3rd person puzzle/action games.
  • The game may be structured simaliar to the matrix spin-off game "Enter the Matrix." This means new characters intreracting with the main cast but still having there own storyline. Enter tha matrix aslo features espically for the game movie scenes not scene in the movie linking the backstory and what you dont see together, this may be expolored in the Lost video game.

Speculation

I'm too lazy to sign up for any forums, so i'm going to put my bit of speculation (not even that; it's more like wishful thinking or what i would do) here. I think that the game would be best utilized not as an alternate viewpoint of the story, but as a prequel, like the story of: The Crew of the Black Rock, Rousseau's Expedition, or The Others. Or, even better-and I know they won't do this, but it would make a pretty fun game-a Sim-style micro-management game involving the Dharma stations prior to whatever really ended it. It may also do well as a detective story, involving off-islanders trying to figure out what happened to their friends and families who were on flight 815. I just think that it would be a big mistake to have it be about background characters on the island and their actions in present-time.--NotARedHerring 11:30, 20 October 2006 (PDT)

  • true, but from a business perspective more folks are going to buy the game if it features the major characters from the show --Moo 04:15, 24 October 2006 (PDT)
  • I think it will be based on the Dharma Inititive and set in that time frame.. from my irc prediction:
    • dharma initiative time frame
    • you play as a member of the dharma initiative
    • see the baraks, flame, pearl, etc
    • get to explore the island (this was already revealed by producers)
    • run into black rock and familiar places but see it from the perspective of the 70's

Timeframe

Anyone have an idea on the release date or a general frame of time?   Hooper   talk    contribs    email   13:26, 22 March 2007 (PDT)

Release date?

I know that the article says it is due out in May, but according to IGN.com, the realease date is TBA (to be announced), but is expected sometime this year (2007). Should it be changed?

Yeah, change it. --Blueeagleislander 21:45, 11 April 2007 (PDT)

My guess is that not only will it be delayed past May but that we should really just be hoping for something by end of November or by the shopping season. congested 17:08, 12 April 2007 (PDT)

Hmm, it seems (after the last official podcast) that the game is well into development, hopefully it will come sooner (summerish) rather than later (fallish). congested 20:24, 17 April 2007 (PDT)

At [website] it says it's out on 31/08/2007 and is EUR 46.49 .

Lost for Mobile Consoles

Why is there no Lost for handhelds? No PSP, DS, SP? Please post your name if you believe that Lost should be for mobile consoles. --DharmaMan 20:26, 15 June 2007 (PDT)

"In need of images"

Can I remove the 'this article is in need of images' template? There are no images at all of the game yet. >: 4 8 15 16 23 42 07:39, 12 July 2007 (PDT)

I agree that it should be removed. Dharmatel4 10:15, 12 July 2007 (PDT)

Hidden Frame

In the most recent Lost: The Game Trailer [here], there is a hidden frame just after the last scene with John (00:53) at the computer that shows the following:

>: Find us

>: and we will show you the way.

>:

--Sneaky_G 20:25, 26 July 2007 (CST)

Yeah, that's cool! Any more footage released?

The hero of the game is NOT Jack.

Going with Damon's quote: "So if you’re watching the show you’re not going to go, “Oh wait a minute, was this going on because I was playing the game? I was in this environment playing the role of this character.”" I'd suggest removing any reference pointing to the fact that Jack is the player's character in the game. I understand that we control someone new and unknown (like in the books, there were new characters introduced).--Mike West 05:50, 4 August 2007 (PDT)

But, if you watch the trailer, it appears you're Jack in a thirdperson perspective. --Blueeagleislander 20:27, 4 August 2007 (PDT)
Yeah, but we're still not sure if it's Jack or not. I wonder if they textured that guy to look like Jack or Matthew Fox (Matt has stars tattooed on the inside of his left forearm, the make-up department usually covers that up on Jack). --Mike West 13:00, 16 August 2007 (PDT)
No they don't. You can see Jack's stars many times and Isabel even comments that the "stars are cute". --Gluphokquen Gunih 04:44, 15 January 2008 (PST)

Not for Wii

Anyone else extremly... narked off that this game isnt coming out for Wii. It dosnent even make sense, especially in a financial sense. Which I guess would be a reason to make a port on the Wii for Ubisoft. I dont care if the graphics arn't amazing on the Wii, I don't care for grahpics. --   Dee4leeds  talk  contribs  all  04:34, 6 August 2007 (PDT)

Perhaps the gameplay wouldn't suit the Wii. I'm happy thoguh, cos I'm a 360 owner.--Blueeagleislander 00:20, 8 August 2007 (PDT)
I understand they might not be any motion control I just want a port onto the Wii. --   Dee4leeds  talk  contribs  all  01:45, 9 August 2007 (PDT)
I'm narked off about it. Even more so since www.play.com has had it in the Wii coming soon section for months. Ah well...there's always a PC version.--Baker1000 04:03, 9 August 2007 (PDT)
Not for GameCube either, I'm out of luck --Mr. Crabby (Talk) 04:19, 9 August 2007 (PDT)
Are any new games coming out on Game Cube? --Blueeagleislander 00:55, 10 August 2007 (PDT)
Nope, haha.--Baker1000 03:43, 10 August 2007 (PDT)
I think some games are coming out for GameCube. Not sure though, I'm not a big gamer and I haven't bought any games in a while. --Mr. Crabby (Talk) 18:47, 30 August 2007 (PDT)

Possible game spoiler:DarkUFO report on the game

DarkUFO [1] reports that the game hero will be Elliot, a new character, the game incudes playable flashbacks, and possibly some answers from the show. Should this be added to the article, or is it spoiler material?--Phil (talk) 17:50, 30 August 2007 (PDT)

Gallery

Hi there, I wanted to know whether the gallery on this page is in breach of copyright or not? --Lewis-Talk-Contribs 08:07, 21 October 2007 (PDT)

As no-one has responded, il just say that according to our guidelines it should not be there, and should be deleted, if nobody tells me otherwise in the next 24 hours it will be removed. --Lewis-Talk-Contribs 03:59, 2 January 2008 (PST)

Rated Teen/16+

In the new issue of lost magazine it says that the game is rated teen and 16+. Should we add this? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hakwam (talkcontribs) .

I'm not sure if the mag is a "official source", but if they are considered official, it should be added. --Blueeagleislander 20:35, 12 December 2007 (PST)

disaster?

I have added comment of game insider Surfer Girl from blog Surfer Girl Reviews Star Wars (yes, thats a name of blog), altough probably in wrong section, but I felt I had to write it.... I just want to rewrite it here (with the rest of article), if someone deleted it as not notable:

[2]

Kudgel informs of the latest episode of the perpetual situation comedy known as Ubisoft.

The videogame based on Lost was so terrible that when the company sent it to Sony for approval, they refused, saying "no, your game is too boring and has no gameplay, we don't want it on the Playstation 3." This videogame will beat records at being bad and will bomb really hard.

The next Splinter Cell game has been redone three times over already. Developers just can't seem to include good gameplay in it. That's part of why it got delayed. Same can be said about Rainbow Six Vegas 2. The story was abysmal and it was supposed to be a prequel to Vegas in the early stages of development. Developers then said it made no sense at all, because the first Vegas game finished with a "To Be Continued" screen. They delayed it to work on the story and add some maps.

Far Cry 2 has also been delayed because it was terrible. The game does not look like NEAR what has been shown. Even with the best PC available to the developers, the game just does not match what has been shown so far. Far Cry 2 is both bad and requires one hell of a machine (PC) to run.

--Running 04:47, 6 January 2008 (PST)

OK, it was deleted, as I expected ... whatever, it is still here, unseen and hidden in "discussion" section. --Running 19:12, 6 January 2008 (PST)
Nothing Surfergirl has said has come true yet. She predicts things far enough into the future so that she can't start being proven wrong for months or even years. If there's one person on the Internet that an encyclopedia should never trust as a source, it's her. ShadowUltra 19:41, 14 January 2008 (PST)

Rename

  • Lost: Via Domus. I'm not sure if this is new, but it's popping up all over as the title: [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] Strangely, it doesn't seem to be updated as of yet on the Ubisoft page. -- Graft   talk   contributions  17:45, 14 January 2008 (PST)
