rename for capitalization

This is not a proper noun, as amply illustrated by the article content, whcih notes that there are multiple dreams. Therefore rename to Locke's dream. -- Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯  Talk 01:47, 8 October 2006 (PDT)

I don't know much about grammar, but I thought it was normal to leave only certain words like "of", "is", "me" etc in lowercase while making titles. It just looks nicer usually. -Chris[dt7] 03:05, 8 October 2006 (PDT)
  • Article titles are not to be treated as titles in themselves. In other words, they are not to be capitalized as if they were the title a newspaper article! Instead they are to be treated for capitalization as the title of an encyclopedia entry (or dictionary), since a wiki is after all modeled after an encyclopedia, right? Just look in any encyclopedia if you are still in doubt. You mention "looks", but capitalization in an encyclopedia is not done with regard to the editors' opinion of visual aesthetics. The criterion is simply whether the words denote a proper noun. If you are ever unsure, use the article title in a sentence (as you would in another article that cites this one), and note how you would capitalize it: "Eko's brother Yemi appeared in Locke's dream." Furthermore, all article titles begin with a capital letter. Finally, note the precedence of other articles:
    1. Charlie's dream
    2. Claire's dream
    3. Eko's dream

  • Rename I think Locke's dreams is more appropriate, see the first line of the article -- Paladine<c.t> 11:35, 8 October 2006 (PDT)

The YouTube video

Feel free to undo my inclusion of the YouTube-element, it was meant as an "experiment"! :-) --Jambalaya 18:00, 2 December 2006 (PST)

Voting to Merge

Vote Merge or Keep, to determine the Fate of this page:

Merge: While the Dreams and Visions page remains very general, with no pages and lacking sufficient details on each dream or vision, we continue to maintain short but separate articles of some character's dreams while ignoring others. I think the content on this article can fit very well in the original Dreams and Visions page, enforcing it and making it a real article to read then a page of links. I believe we have reached a good articles count for Lostpedia, that we no longer need to continue in this tedious separation of articles, which definately gives a bad example for new users to follow.--- 09:55, 5 December 2006 (PST)

  • Change to Keep: After considering your opinion, to which I find that keeping the dreams theme consistent to other themes should be of a higher priority than expanding it through merging. Thus, I change my vote to Keep. I'll take the liberty of lifting off the template I added. Please feel free to re-add it again in case of further evidence.-- 06:45, 11 December 2006 (PST)

Keep: I think one of the reasons it was taken out to begin with was because it makes the main article too long. We do the same with the themes list and the literature list; if there's enough to expand on, it goes on a separate page, if there isn't, it just goes on the main page. --PandoraX 07:29, 10 December 2006 (PST)

Keep: Same as PandoraX's reasoning --Blueeagleislander 01:41, 11 December 2006 (PST)

Boone and Horace

In Further Instructions, when Locke is mute, the apparition of Boone says "don't worry; you'll speak when you have something worth saying". Horace Goodspeed says the same thing to Ben in the flashback of The Man Behind the Curtain. --Kuzak 06:12, 21 May 2007 (PDT)

Merge

Merge:: What is the point av having an own article for this dream--Wilbraham Williams 09:07, 26 May 2007 (PDT)
Against - I can't see the logic of this proposal of merging this article into the Pearl exterior article. -- Cheers (talk) 22:30, 26 May 2007 (PDT)

  • Disagree: There is no logic in this merge. The user who proposed this did obviously not read the entire article as it focuses on more then one of Locke's dreams/visions. This article also is well written and has enough content to be its own article. -Mr.Leaf 09:58, 27 May 2007 (PDT)
  • Disagree per Mr. Leaf. --   Lost Soul   talk  contribs  01:34, 31 May 2007 (PDT)
