Order[]

May I ask if there is any significance to the order in the deaths? I was expecting chronological order. --Robbie 04:01, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Alphabetical by first name. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  11:58, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Alphabetical by first name is not an effective method of organization. --Crohall 21:02, December 20, 2011 (UTC)
Can some of the murdered recurring characters be added? --Orhan94 08:56, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
I'm going for significance on the page. So if there are any plot-significant last words, go ahead and add them in the section with Keamy and Naomi. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  12:14, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Might I suggest we offer every dead character's last words on this page? I'm sure every one has some significance to it. I'm thinking of Wayne Janssen's "You're beautiful" to Kate should be listed. Ripple619 20:58, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Not every dead character -- that would get very cluttered and very pointless. -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  23:49, 21 June 2009 (UTC)\
I think significance is a hard thing to quantify. I think we should add every character who was seen dying on screen. Obviously Christian is empirically dead, but we don't know his last words. Phil is dead, but didn't really say anything during the last time we saw him. Just sort of orders. This page, in a way, is pretty pointless to begin with. It wouldn't be cluttered to add them because we could simply tack them onto the end of the second half of the page. I for one would like to see this page include every set of last words. I see no point in keeping them off the page. Alex's last words are just as, if not more, important than Danielle's (in my opinion, obviously). And the Locke's last words as a living person aren't exactly significant to the character. So. At the very least, I think we should add anyone who's dead on the Supporting Characters portal, if not people like Wayne Janssen and Abaddon. I could go on and discuss how I personally think that a lot of these characters' last words are very cool or ironic, but I think I've gone on enough. Bassrockindrew 13:36, April 14, 2010 (UTC)

Charlie[]

  • Shouldn't we mention Charlie's last spoken words ("Your boat, eighty miles off shore. Er... Naomi, parachutist.") as well ? I think so, but I'm not too sure about how it should be included ... What do you think ? --LeoChris 20:14, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
  • Perhaps its just my mind playing tricks on me, but if you look at the video of him drowning, it looks like he's saying Not Penny's Boat as he writes it. Maybe its just me wanting those to be his actual last words, but if we can find a way so they count, I'm not complaining. --Geekinator 00:38, May 13, 2010 (UTC)
  • While those are the last words he spoke, they hold hardly any significance when compared to the "Not Penny's Boat" line, and any significance they do hold is shared with "Not Penny's Boat." -- Sam McPherson  T  C  E  20:52, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
  • I still think they should be added. It's kinda the same situation with Juliet. It has two 'last words' listed for her. I think it should be added what his last spoken words were. -- LostCloverfield42  Talk  17:39, May 5, 2010 (UTC)

Ironic last words? Necessary?[]

I'm thinking that the 'ironic last words' subsection is unnecessary, and Arzt and Frogurt's last words should be integrated into the "Other Meaningful Last Words" section. They are, after all, legitimately supporting characters, and I see no reason for them to be isolated, like a footnote, down the bottom. --TowerCraneDriver 05:48, May 28, 2010 (UTC)

Jacob's last words[]

Can't we assume Jacob meant the Candidates (from 1977) or is there still mystery on what "They're coming" and the Monster's wide-eyed expression meant?--Tim Thomason 09:11, May 30, 2010 (UTC)

  • It's a legitimate theory, and one I personally agree with, but so far as I know, there has been no conclusive canon confirmation of this fact. --TowerCraneDriver 13:23, May 30, 2010 (UTC)

Proposed Re-Ordering?[]

I'm thinking it would make more sense to split this page into Main Characters' Lact Words, Supporting Characters' Last Words and Other Meaningful Last Words/Minor Characters' Last Words. I guess this is a step to including all characters (of some importance) who died on screen, but separating them out a little more (having Mother, Caesar, Dogen and Elsa(!?) moved away from what we commonly consider the supporting characters. Also, this would involve bringing Arzt and Frogurt up into the Supporting characters section, instead of being almost a footnote at the bottom. Yes? No? --TowerCraneDriver 05:45, June 1, 2010 (UTC)

Merge[]

  • No This lists dying words. That article lists the last words we hear characters say. This article's the more significant one. --- Balk Of Fametalk 22:54, June 12, 2010 (UTC)
  • Yes Why have two lists that suggest the same thing? Metroid101 23:12, June 12, 2010 (UTC)
    • The lists are actually very different - the "Last Words" refers specifically to a character's dying words, and deconstructs their importance within the show's context. The "First/Last" merely lists phrases spoken first and last, chronologically speaking (by episode). --TowerCraneDriver 08:24, June 13, 2010 (UTC)
  • No Those two pages seem totally different to me. Dying words are significant. The other page is just trivial in my opinion ... it's merely the last lines that we, as viewers, heard the characters say. As such, most of the lines will be rather insignificant. To combine both would devalue this page. --LeoChris 02:19, June 13, 2010 (UTC)
  • No First and last spoken words would include lines said in the FST, etc. Last words (or "dying words") are far more significant, and are deserving of their own page. --TowerCraneDriver 03:20, June 13, 2010 (UTC)

Tom Brennan[]

Can someone add Tom Brennan's last words (No.) here? --Daniel990 04:02, July 3, 2010 (UTC)
