I think Jacob took over Sayid's body and he and New Locke (or Jacob's enemy) will fight. Just a theory though.

Does anybody know what Dogan said to Lennon in Japanese when Lennon commented that the water in the spring wasn't clear? DraveShift 13:16, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

I don't know if this is the right place for this discussion but I haven't seen any recent talk/discussion/theories about the infertility issue on the island. I feel like it has to be important but can't come up with a good reason for it other than the island just doesn't allow reproduction -- but why? I'd love to see discussion of this especially with Season 6 brought in to the mix.

Also, no talk about Aaron. Do people think he no longer plays a role? Love to hear discussion on this too. Thanks and feel free to move this to the appropriate page if needed.Destinedjourney 16:10, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Text now pasted to main theory Page

for reference only. I have put all of the text here I removed from the main page. Below is a copy of what I have put on the main page in its place. If anyone disagrees with me they can revert it. I'm probanbly not positing for the rest of today. Good luck and good theorising --Sean Sheep 18:37, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

Guidelines for Posting on this page

PLEASE NOTE: This page seems to have attracted a huge number of edits and in in real danger of becoming unreadable. Before posting, please read the following:

  • Based on the numerous inaccurate comments about very basic points in Lost, it appears that many authors have either not watched, or not paid attention to some or all of the episodes.
  • Lost is a complex show, more complex than any other movie or tv show you will ever see. Even if you turn your head for 10 seconds it may throw you off down the road. Unless you have seen every single episode of Lost in exact order, you shouldn't be posting. If you have missed 10 minutes of an episode, please dont post. If you have only seen the whole show all the way through once you shouldn't be posting. There are more than enough people to contribute that have seen the whole series 3, 5, even 10 or more times. Even I get confused sometimes and I've seen the first 5 seasons almost 4 times in the last 5 months.
  • Check and make sure the point you are trying to make isn't already in another section.
  • Make sure the comment you are making is accurate. Otherwise you create arguments and make this page even harder to read. Many of the arguments on this page are simply because someone made an incorrect statement about something that has been crystal clear for many seasons. (ex. Someone wrote a theory and said "Rousseau never would have transmitted the numbers." Anyone that has seen Lost should know that we don't know who transmitted the numbers, but that Sam Toomey and Leonard Simms heard them out in the Pacific. You get the point.
  • Use common sense. While it is true that Jin & Sun were not both wearing rings, the argument about them not being married in the new timeline does not make sense unless you can explain why someone from a family as powerful as Sun's would take orders from the Son of a Fisherman. Additionally In the new timeline Jin was still delivering the watches, something he was originally doing for Mr. Paik. If you claim that Jin and Sun are now not married, you need to explain in the theory why the watches are still being delivered, and why they are travelling together.
  • Avoid the "Jack blinked when he was looking out of the window, it has to mean something" type of theories. While most everything that happens on Lost is significant, not everything is. Trying to decipher concrete facts that are part of the storyline is one thing, but trying to base theories on solely natural facial expressions and tone of voice is unnecessary. Not everything is a conspiracy.
  • If anyone wants to see an example of a good theory, check out the one on "Jacob's Master Plan."

Please be aware that if the page exceeds readable length, some of the earlier entries may well need to be archived.

Discussion about the preamble to the main theory page

This was removed to her - see discussion below.

Theory: A lot of people contributing to LA X theories have not seen all of lost

  • Based on the numerous inaccurate comments about very basic points in Lost, it appears that many of you have either not watched, or not payed attention to some or all of the episodes.
  • Lost is a complex show, more complex than any other movie or tv show you will ever see. Even if you turn your head for 10 seconds it may throw you off down the road. Unless you have seen every single episode of Lost in exact order, you shouldn't be posting. If you have missed 10 minutes of an episode, dont post. Hell, even if you have seen the whole show all the way through only once you shouldnt be posting. There are more than enough people to contribute that have seen the whole series 3, 5, even 10 or more times. Even I get confused sometimes and ive seen the first 5 seasons almost 4 times in the last 5 months.
  • People are wasting space and turning this whole page into an organized mess arguing about stuff that was established a very long time ago.
  • Half of the text on this page is unnecessary, to avoid that percentage of unnecessary information climbing even higher:
    • Check and make sure the point you are trying to make isn't already in another section.
    • Make sure the comment you are making is accurate before you make yourself look stupid and make this page even harder to read.
    • Use common sense. There is a big argument about Jin and Sun not being married in the new timeline. Why would someone from a family as powerful as Sun's take orders from the Son of a Fisherman if they were just friends? Jin was still delivering the watches, something he was doing for Mr. Paik. The only reason he was working for Mr. Paik originally was because of Sun.
    • Many of these arguments are here simply because someone made an incorrect statement about something that has been crystal clear for many seasons. (ex. Someone wrote a theory and said "Rousseau never would have transmitted the numbers." Anyone that has seen Lost should know that we dont know who transmitted the numbers, but that Sam Toomey and Leonard Simms heard them out in the Pacific. You get the point.
    • People are always quicker to post on an inaccurate statement to correct someone, so not only do the inaccurate statements themselves take up space, people correcting them take up even more. Please help put an end to ignorant Lost comments.
    • If anyone wants to see an example of a good theory, check out the one on "Jacob's Master Plan."

        • What occurs to me is that tonight, LA X (1 & 2) airs on UK TV, and there will be a LOT more postings on this page. We do need a disclaimer at the top to say there have been a lot of postings, and this page will get very cluttered very soon unless someone takes on the role of moderator, moving stuff to an archive or removing the "less well constructed" items. --Sean Sheep 18:00, February 5, 2010 (UTC)
  • And dont take this the wrong way Sean, but technically this was a Theory, a theory that people posting theories had missed and/or not seen parts of lost. It only became a discussion when you added to it ;) And there is not an angry/negative/argumentative connotation behind that, just poking fun.The Dirty 18:14, February 5, 2010 (UTC)
      • Sean I removed part of our original conversation because it was starting to make this page exactly what I was trying to avoid (long and cluttered). I'm open to suggestions, and as well-organized as your theories have been, you're welcome to edit/add anything to this, I trust you. And I agree about the UK airing, it will only get worse. But the page is already cluttered, its just going to become impossible to figure out where everything is.

The Dirty 18:11, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

  • Sean if you want to write a "before you post" draft or something thats fine. Considering how complicated Lost is and how well-organized your theory was im sure you'll do fine. The Dirty 18:18, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

I have done this on the discussion page, and used most of the above text. I have to go shortly, and won't be posting until tomorrow. If you want to replace this section with that, please feel free. --Sean Sheep 18:24, February 5, 2010 (UTC)
