I screenshot this image from the Tattoo Parlor scene, I believe it is the same marking as Juliet's: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v32/bobznc/Tattoo_Parlor.jpg --Bobznc 02:44, 22 February 2007 (PST)
New Interpretation[]
I originally thought the scar looked somewhat like the Rosy Cross as shown below--a vertical line with six radials going out of it. But now that I compare it to the mark on the tree, I see that the swelling distorted it--it's the same mark. Thus the description of the mark needs to be changed... And I'll put up a picture of the tree symbol too, if I can figure out how to work it. Funny, I wonder if we'll start finding the actual meaning of the symbol now that we know what it looks like.Salvar 12:41, 12 April 2007 (PDT)
Juliet's mark and the map[]

The map (fliped vertically) and the mark
I was wondering if this makes sense: Juliet's mark looks like the map on the wall. The map was fliped vertically. It can be also rotated a bit so it will fit with the rays of the star. BeŻet 06:27, 22 February 2007 (PST)
Juliet's Mark and Eko's Stick[]
In eko's stick there was written: "lift up your eyes and look north". Juliet's mark could be seen as a compass rose. In that case it would point to the North.
- It is a possibility. But what is north? BeŻet 09:45, 23 February 2007 (PST)
Mary-J?[]
My first thought was a marijuana leaf. Of course, that leads to thinking that the Other's are drug smugglers... Anomymage 06:53, 22 February 2007 (PST)
- Impossible. With whom would they smuggle? The island is isolated. BeŻet 07:15, 22 February 2007 (PST)
Rosicrucian Cross[]
This also resembles an upside-down Rosicrucian Cross, which isn't all that Christian (Juliet's mark and the cross have the same number of points; the blast door map doesn't have the same number of points). The Rosicrucians were an early secret society who used the cross, among other things, to cast sigils (which also resemble the Dharma relays on the blast door map). The Rosicrucians also figure into Umberto Eco's book Foucault's Pendulum, which recalls Mr. Eko and is about people creating fictional histories that they become caught up in. More possiblities...[]
I know I've seen that symbol before. I just can't place it, and it's driving me nuts. Here's two potential leads I found: symbols.com (which says it's an unspecified russian political symbol of some sort), and Wikipedia (an upside down Juno symbol). I don't think that second one is really it, because I'm pretty sure I've seen it right side up. I just can't remember where... -BearDog 17:05, 22 February 2007 (PST)
- To me it reembles a Symbol of Chaos[1] especially since one of the arms is longer. Chaos symbols frequently have uneven arms.--Tricksterson 07:46, 24 February 2007 (PST)
Is it possible the mark was a way of inducting her into the Others little community? A sign of saying, "Hey, you're now one of us."? You never know with this show!The-room 22:07, 20 May 2007 (PDT)
Compass dial with the North remarked[]
....."look up to the north", said the Eko´s note.... This could be a mark of the compass-dial, with the North marked with a larger line... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Futzer Lost (talk • contribs) .
Scientology?[]
It also looks like the Scientology cross upside-down. Uncanny really, it looks JUST like it. http://www.thetailsection.com/lost_news/lost_are_the_others_scientolog.php Shi no Kyoufu 16:29, 23 February 2007 (PST)

The Scientology cross (fliped vertically) and the mark
Here is another picture for this Theory. Ig85 16:56, 23 February 2007 (Germany)
- you're both correct. however, lostpedia in the past has censored and purged any theories involving Scientology. make no mistake, JJ and his writers are critiquing Co$ every chance they get. DanielFaraday 18:07, 13 March 2008 (PDT)
Ash Wednesday[]
This has to have christain backings because the fact that it arrias on ash wednesday is just too big to over look.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cooldude 832 (talk • contribs) .
The woman who gave jack his tattoo.[]
THe woman who gave jack hIS tattoo. doesn't she have thIS same mark oN her lOwer back? Do you Think this is COINCIDENCE?
DHARMA?[]
The mark could be a symbol of The One True Way, a part of the DHARMA philosophy. The longer point pointing upwards indicates that she is being reminded of why she is there on the island. It could also mean that she may never be able to go back to the island once she leaves. ~barashizu, 00:32, 29 March 2007
Juliet's tattoo[]
The tattoo resembles the "scorpion" symbol that is on the front of the podium in the room where the trial or hearing takes place.
AHA! Found![]
I'm 99% sure this is it. Symbol 9:14. A page full of whatever this means, for your viewing pleasure! Any hints in there? (Isolation815 16:15, 6 July 2007 (PDT))
Easter Egg?[]
From the main article/trivia:
Juliet's mark is believed by some fans to be an Easter egg in reference to Easter eggs; the same symbol is found on Cadbury's Creme Eggs, which are associated with Easter.
Seems awfully tenuous to me.
Shouldn't this page be updated to reference the similarity between Juliet's mark and the broach worn by Eloise Hawking in the FST scene with Desmond in "happily Ever After" ?? LostFreak408SJ 21:37, April 13, 2010 (UTC)
