Jin's Parentage[]

I'm new here, so I'm not sure of protocol. I added a comment on a theory in the Theory tab, but someone removed it without explaining why in the edit summary. I'm guessing it's because I engaged in a discussion of the theory in the Theory space instead of the Theory Talk space. So I have restored my comment, but as an edit to rather than a comment on the existing theory. The basis for my edit is that it's established that Sam was stationed in Korea. Check the transcript of What Kate Did: "So I called one of your COs to get some pictures of you in uniform. The pictures that he sent me had dates on the back -- photos of you in Korea up until 4 months before I was born." If I'm not doing this right, please hit me up on my talk page. Thanks! --Lurgis 10:35, 30 May 2008 (PDT)

Sorry, that was me. I didn't intend to remove it, I guess it was an edit conflict (though I'm pretty sure I didn't spend 20 minutes composing that edit, so I'm not sure how I managed to delete your comment).
In general, though, I think it is much better to correct theories rather than comment on them. There is a theory page policy to this effect, though it is not widely accepted or used, so most pages do tend to work more like talk pages.--Hylas 12:52, 30 May 2008 (PDT)

Candidate[]

I thought he was a Candidate because Sun couldn't as she became a mother like Kate, is this true? --Kiisama 05:27, May 27, 2010 (UTC)

  • (Hi!) I think Sun was never intended to be a candidate, not because she was a mother, but because she was never supposed to be on the 815 flight to begin with; at the airport (Sept 22, 2004) she was supposed to leave Jin and not travel with him on the Oceanic 815 flight. But then she had 2nd thoughts and ended up going with him out of 'free will' at the last minute. I believe Jin was always the (only) intended candidate between the two of them, which is why (I think) she didn't flashback to '77 with the other candidates (Jack, Kate, Hurley) when she returned to the island on the 316 fight. She remained with the other non-candidates and was merely just a 'regular' passenger on that flight remaining in real-time. --Sweetpetitetreat 11:51, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

Jin on mainland after Oceanic 6 rescue?[]

After the Oceanic 6 returned to the mainland and after the Kahana explosion, how did Jin end up back in Korea and with no knowledge of Sun or her giving birth at the same hospital he was sent to deliver a baby gift (to someone else? )

  • In the episode Ji Yeon, Sun was having her baby in 2007. This was a flashforward. However, it was mingled with Jin's flashbacks before the Island. --Dharmafolk 11:37, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

Aaahhh, the lightbulb just went on! (thanks!!) :) --Sweetpetitetreat 11:40, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

Also....(Jin floating on plank...)[]

...Also, if Jin HAD indeed survived the explosion and returned to the mainland after the Oceanic 6 rescue, how was it that he was floating on a plank in the water (presumably after the explosion), rescued by Dannielle's crew and experience the same time flashes as Sawyer, Juliet, Miles, etc. This is probably the biggest mystery to me out of all the mysteries on LOST!
