Name[]

In IMDB Andrea Roth's character is mentioned by the name of Harper Stanhope (Andrea Roth). "Harper Stanhope" is an anagram for "Perhaps Another". --Jyrki 05:01, 2 March 2008 (PST)

  • Or "Perhaps An Other"

Is it worth pointing out that her last name is an anagram of "sat phone"? The full name anagrams are probably more pertinent.TheBookPolice 07:01, 7 March 2008 (PST)

Status[]

Unknown[]

Her status should be unknown, since she appeared and disappeared to Juliet, not unlike Christian Shephard and Walt. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by JoeyBags1138 (talkcontribs) 2008-03-07T00:33:34.

Jack acknowledged her presence, she just didn't appear in the present outside of the beginning. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ticktock24 (talkcontribs) 2008-03-07T01:42:01.
Walt appeared to Shannon and Sayid at the same time as well.--JoeyBags1138 10:50, 7 March 2008 (PST)

Yeah, this article should not be written up in a way that suggests Harper was real, and "met Juliet in the jungle." There's more evidence for her being an apparition of some sort (controlled by Ben) than there is for her being a real, living Other traipsing through the jungle. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by TheChronicler (talkcontribs) .

Apparition[]

  • If Harper is an apparition of some sort, it's not necessarily controlled by Ben. The whispers might indicate she's a manifestation of the monster (the same whispers can be heard in various other occasions when it shows itself), and it doesn't seem that Ben has any control of it - in "Confirmed Dead", Ben claims he doesn't ever know what it is. The monster - the Island, maybe? - seems to have its own agenda. Andresacram 16:49, 8 March 2008 (PST)

Dead[]

I really doubt she's alive, but I like the idea of as soon as Juliet and Jack turn around Harper hunkering down and hiding behind a tree. Then Jack and Juliet turn around and--My God, where did she go?! Therequiembellishere 16:16, 9 March 2008 (PDT)

Alive[]

Actually, there is little logical evidence to suggest she has died. She was seen alive when the plane crashed, she was not seen or mentioned as having died in "Through the Looking Glass, Part 1", she couldn't have died from pregnancy (due to Goodwin's remark that he had been sleeping on the couch for a year), and she looked healthy, so it is unlikely she could have succumbed to an undefined illness.--Phil (talk) 11:13, 7 March 2008 (PST)

  • Juliet asks Harper why Harper does not do the task assigned to Juliet. This presumes Harper is corporeal and can fire a gun. The way she appeared, I expected her to die in the flashback, but it's likely Juliet was just surprised to see her, what with all the hard feelings and baggage between them. --Moo 23:53, 7 March 2008 (PST)

I definitely think that she is alive. Appearing and disappearing is part of the Others mysterious nature. Like Tom appearing and disappearing in "The Hunting Party". Or Ethan appearing and disappearing in "Homecoming". Or Richard in "The Man Behind the Curtain". Do you get my point? --CTS 20:17, 9 March 2008 (PDT)

Harper is definitely alive and on the Island. Official LOST Podcast on 3/10/08 confirmed this to be the case.TheBookPolice 12:26, 11 March 2008 (PDT)

Wow, sarcasm. Therequiembellishere 17:03, 13 March 2008 (PDT)

Trivia Section[]

The harpy and Empty Cradle talk seems a bit far-fetched to me. --Moo 23:50, 7 March 2008 (PST)

Hanso Foundation[]

  • At the very beginning of the episode Juliet looked up at the wall before Harper came in and saw three things on the wall. The last was a Certificate of Recognition. If you look close you can see the Hanso Foundation logo. It's small but it's clearly the Hanso symbol there. --Meteor.

Connection with Libby?[]

Ok this is really reaching but I'm betting now that Libby and Harper knew each other. The writers have implied since Libby's death that Libby would show up in the flashback of a character who would be introduced later. Harper is a psychologist and Libby claims to be one. Harper has a certificate on her wall that is from the Hanso Foundation. Libby's boat brought Desmond to the island due to Charles Widmore's manipulations. Widmore has some connection to Hanso and Dharma. It's a reach but I'm thinking Harper will eventually get a flashback episode where we find out they knew each other. --Meteor

Doctor?[]

As a therapist, would we consider her Dr Harper Stanhope? I don't know if therapists recieve the doctor title, as Jack and Juliet do. (Jamster 10:51, 12 March 2008 (PDT))

WHY THE HECK is a spoiler of a picture used on the first page? This is not how she was presented in last episode...a shot from The Other Woman should be used, not this shot of her in other clothes, which means either we WILL be seeing her again OR it's a promotional still which ALSO says we'll we seeing her again. Boo LOSTpedia..i feel spoiled just coming to this page.

THis is a great site, but Im disappointed to see the picture used here....a shot of Wet Harper should be there instead...it's still a guessing game after all. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by TheChronicler (talkcontribs) .

That's a promo pic from The Other Woman - just minus the rain. These things happen. It's the only medium shot photo we have of Harper. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jamster (talkcontribs) .

Yes, this photo is not a spoiler, just a promotional picture from "The Other Woman" --Phil (talk) 17:39, 13 March 2008 (PDT)

Minor or prominent[]

Why is she listed as a minor other, with Amelia, Zack, Emma, Adam and Cindy. Why not with Richard and Ben as an alive prominent. she had a very important role in "The Other Woman"--Orhan94 07:15, 26 March 2008 (PDT)

She's had one appearance. Her role wasn't exactly that important in my opinion. Who knows when/if we're going to see her again?--Baker1000 07:32, 26 March 2008 (PDT)

Temple?[]

Shouldn't we make a note that she's hanging out in the temple? if not, shouldn't we then say, her whereabouts as of LA X are unknown? also we're not even entirely sure she's alive. Shortguy457 00:10, February 10, 2010 (UTC)

Should we update her Status post-Whispers Reveal?[]

Should we update her Status post-Whispers reveal in "Everybody Loves Hugo". Perhaps something like, "unknown but presumed dead due to the fact that the Whispers which prefaced her arrival in 'The Other Woman' have since been revealed to be trapped souls on the island who cannot move on?" I know it's also possible the dead people were just there at the time, but it seems to perhaps indicate that Harper is dead. I haven't made any changes to the article, this is just a suggestion for discussion ..... --Jonahwriter 22:33, April 14, 2010 (UTC)

  • No That's still just theory, albeit a very likely one. Hawkdeath 09:21, April 16, 2010 (UTC)
  • Yes If it's cleared up by the end of the season that all the remaining Others are with Locke (Not somewhere with the group from the statue in the jungle; I think these people are all dead) I say assume she died at some point after Goodwin's death. Shortguy457 09:20, April 16, 2010 (UTC)
    • Didn't the producers say that Harper was still alive?--Gibbeynator 19:25, May 8, 2010 (UTC)
      • Didn't they also say Aldo was dead when he clearly wasn't? Perhaps the Lost encyclopedia will clear this up. --LeoChris 06:00, June 22, 2010 (UTC)
