Foreign Language Radio[]

The language on the phone is not German (I know, I am). To me it sounds like a norwgian or possibly Danish radio DJ. --Philwjan 04:08, 3 May 2006 (PDT)

Cool, thanks. Anyone able to translate? --Arcon 04:40, 3 May 2006 (PDT)
Turns out it was Danish after all. Translations courtesy of Megalobraniac from lostpodcast.proboards2.com --Philwjan 08:12, 3 May 2006 (PDT)
Stars. Good going guys, i think we've all but solved the audio clues then. --Arcon 09:00, 3 May 2006 (PDT)

Paik Heavy Industries[]

... Isn't Sun's dad's name Mr. Paik? So there has been a connection all along. Could that also mean that Sun was the one carrying the pregnancy test on the plane?

Yes, Mr Paik is Sun's father. There seems to be some kind of connection between Mr. Paik and the Hanso Foundation. --Plkrtn 08:21, 3 May 2006 (PDT)

Rap[]

Does anyone know what the Rap songs are that briefly play? "Bouncing in new york street" It would be good to know what they are lines from. --Arcon 09:06, 3 May 2006 (PDT)

I managed to get down the following (There seems to be 2 different songs that play): "I got my mind on right man You can all turn greener than the .... color on a Sprite can. Can I see the other one... color of the sun" Sezzyboy 12:33, 3 May 2006 (PDT)

The clip is actually "Steady bouncing in jeeps on the New York streets" from NINE, also known as 9mm, from a song called 'Whatcha want'. Lyrics are at http://www.ohhla.com/anonymous/nine/9_livez/whutcha.9ne.txt

Nine was a very lauded artist with a very particular voice and rhyme style. He put out a few albums generally overlooked by the public, but lauded (and sampled) by DJ's. His tracks are sampled all over, mostly in freestyle mixes such as this - I seem to remember a BBC Andy Smith/Portishead session that closes with 'whatchu want'.

Recording[]

Is there a chance for some audio recording so that we outside the UK could enjoy this as well? ;-) --Jambalaya 09:35, 3 May 2006 (PDT)

I'll get them converted to .ogg and upload them here--Arcon 09:52, 3 May 2006 (PDT)
Anyone who is in the US gets to join in, in about 8 hours time!--Plkrtn 10:05, 3 May 2006 (PDT)
Can't seem to upload .ogg. It says its not a recognised format. I'll get onto the admins --Arcon 10:06, 3 May 2006 (PDT)

In the case of the US and Australia having different content[]

This Hanso Phone Line should be renamed to Hanso Phone Line (UK) and (US) and (AU) ones should be created. There are 20 countries taking part in all, but I am going to assume the UK, Australia and US will be giving us the most information...

if there are different phone calls for different places then maybe. More likely, though, is that the phone calls for different places will tell the next part in the series. I expect that the US messages would give us new information, following on from what we learned.
Australian number has been released. Same content as what's in the article. I should mention that the General Information I recieved was the newer one, and didn't have the Persephone/breaking strain part.--Mgeorge 04:15, 4 May 2006 (PDT)
You can call the line using Skype. I don't know about sending the correct tone for the numbers 1 to 5 though. To call on SkypeOut dial +44800666640. It is free for anyone. --Plkrtn 14:15, 3 May 2006 (PDT)
Now the US number has been released, is the content on the phone any different?--Arcon 02:23, 4 May 2006 (PDT)
U.S. Version is currently equal to the 2pm UTC/3pm BST version, and has been since around 6 am EDT.

DK-1604 leads to...[]

The Danish embassy in Washington DC. [1] (I'm a bit surprised to find that kind of censorship on Google Maps!)

I tried to look up "544 Orsund Klengvjel" with no luck. However, DK-1604 _is_ a zip code in Copenhagen.

544 Orsund Klengvjel DK 1604 Copenhagen V[]

Orsund may actually be Oresund (where the O has the two dots above it). This is a body of water off Copenhagen. I think.

Not sure what Klengvjel means... Maybe street or something?

An office or location on or near the water?

Actually it's Øresund in Danish, Örsund in Swedish which is the mass of water between Denmark & Sweden. The zipcode is near the Øresund harbor in Copenhagen. --skks 09:18, 4 May 2006 (PDT)
Oh, ok. --Skrip00 16:23, 5 May 2006 (PDT)

Klengvjel means absolutely nothing in danish, although "vej" is a road. The zipcode 1604 is in the Copenhagen West, just near the lakes.

Canadian Phone Line[]

Does anyone have a Canadian Phone number for he Hanso Organization? Also, did CTV air the commercial at all? I live in eastern canada, and CTV airs lost at 7 pm, while ABC airs it at 10 pm. Ordinarily I watch the CTV broadcast, but i missed it and watched the ABC version.

Also, the american number does work in my area, but i found that there is an extra wrinkle to the phoneline that you havent reported yet--in order to hear Persephone's message, you have to enter PER using the keypad of ur phone. this will take u to option three (thomas, i believe) and then after the message has played, you have to push option one to hear persephone. Otherwise, option 1 will just play normally.

thank u

--Timbbo 17:40, 7 May 2006 (PDT)

I'm from BC. There are no Hanso Foundation Ads on CTV. I don't think CTV will broadcast American commericals on Canadian televison (remember the Superbowl - how you cannot watch some commercials here?). That is why I always watch it again an hour later on ABC. I believe that the game is not running in Canada; otherwise, there will be something in CTV's website. We just play along with the Americans... - Chatake 09:35, 11 May 2006 (PDT)

See No Evil Hear No Evil[]

There's a growing discrepancy with regards to the Hanso Phone Line in comparison to the Hanso website. It's been discovered that over 90% of the images used at the website are from a website called Getty Images. So some are asserting that these characters, in the context of the fictitious storyline of the game, don't exist at all but are mere puppets. However, we've HEARD these characters plainly on the Hanso Phone Line. Should there be some reference to this in either/both the Hanso Phone Line page of lostpedia or/and the Hanso Foundation website page of lostpedia? ZachsMind 09:26, 11 May 2006 (PDT)

Blurring the reality line, perhaps ABC just used those images for the site, not anticipating they would be 'found out' LOSTonthisdarnisland 08:51, 20 May 2006 (PDT)

Counsel not Council[]

The title "General Counsel" for Peter refers to a corporation's main legal advisor. It isn't entirely unusual for such a person to have a position on the Board of Trustees. You'll notice, however, that Peter seems to be a VP, General Counsel, and Secretary (presumably of the board). That suggests a very tight, small group controls matters. Phone Error Codes[]

I removed the ever increasing list of error codes for the US Hanso phone line. These codes are standard telephony error messages - the changing code indicates routing. I tried to find sometthing that explained exactly what they meant, but I couldn't. However I found literrally hundreds of phone phreaking sites with that error listed and various error codes. It's not part of the clues for the Lost Experience. BladeHamilton 10:02, 9 June 2006 (PDT)
