Re-write[]

I rewrote this a bit ago, is that good? Or should it be re-written more? Thanks --TheEyeland 05:56, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

What is she doing now / how did they know she wouldn't be around in Season 5?[]

I recall a press conference that I think was given mid-Season 4, probably around the time they were making announcements about how the show would proceed once the writers' strike ended, although it could have been earlier or later, I don't remember. The press conference consisted of Damon and Carlton and a bunch of reporters. One of them asked if "Emilie" was going to be around, or what they were going to do about Emilie, or something of that nature. Damon said, "de Ravin?" And then tiptoed around the question. In retrospect it seems clear to me, by virtue of this reporter having singled out Emilie among all the cast members, that the reporter knew that Claire was going to have a much-diminished role as the series continued. So my question is: how did the reporter know? Did de Ravin announce her intention to focus her career on features, or something, which would have meant time away from Lost? BTW, this was the "teleconference" which announced the Lost Season 4 finale. DocArtz used to have audio of it, but that link has since 404'd. I found two different transcripts, neither one verbatim-accurate, here and here. I'm convinced this reporter had some inside scoop. Maybe the actress became pregnant? She obviously knew that Emilie de Ravin would not feature in Season 5 ahead of time and was really trying to get some kind of confirmation that the character would be killed off. Video (http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1767981825/bclid1764764835/bctid1807599233) where Emelie confirms she won't be on Season 5 but back for Season 6 is from Sept 2008, so the question in April of that year, certainly seems suspect to advanced knowledge. ---- LOSTonthisdarnisland 17:22, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
