I removed the line: "Such a price would be at least 5 to 10 times the amount Desmond said he needed to purchase a boat with. This was, of course, a gift - an extraordinarily huge gift."
- First, because the calculation is wrong;
- Second, because there's no interesting in that;
- Third, because even if the real value is much bugger than 42K... could not Des have the intention of buy it USED?
Removed the "fact" that the sailboat was Desmond's. While I believe this is correct, I don't think there's any way to know for a fact that the sailboat is his... yet. --Xsg 23:42, 17 May 2006 (PDT)
They are no spoilers on this page.
Oops yes they are.
Amazing how far fetched some of the theories on this site can be:
- Earlier in the episode, Michael demands a boat in exchange for the delivery of Henry Gale and four survivors. It's unclear why this would be that boat, but it's an interesting link.
- This happens right after Hurley agrees to join Michael on his quest to return Walt, which sets the scene for Michael to deliver on his promise to the Others.
Don't you think these are a bit ridiculous? Advance 14:12, 19 May 2006 (PDT)
- The sailboat IS the Elizabeth. Should be merged without a doubt. kcnovA23 14:14, 25 May 2006 (EDT)
How much metal is in the construction of the boat.. and is it enough that its hard to escape the islands magnetic pull.. and thats why its so hard for desmond to leave. :)
- The island's magnetic field probably doesn't affect the metal in the boat - but it *would* affect the boat's compass. Sayid observed earlier that compasses don't work properly on the island. Desmond most likely thought he was sailing in a straight line, but if he was trusting his compass, he probably just ended up just going in a large circle. Shodan1138 16:00, 30 May 2006 (PDT)
So any discussion on how Kelvin Inman kept the boat secret from the Others surveillance for three years? --Brother 16:23, 13 October 2006 (PDT)
- Has a tracking device onboard that was detected by The Listening Station , The Discharge merely allowed its signal to penetrate to the outside world.
- No, The Listening Station didn't pick up a tracking signal, it picked up The Discharge itself.
Rewrite[]
This rewrite needs to be corrected to PAST-TENSE -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 07:18, 28 October 2006 (PDT)
Proposed rename[]
Since we know the proper name of the vessel, this article should be moved to Elizabeth (sailboat) and sailboat should redirect there. Robert K S 02:29, 30 October 2006 (PST)
2nd rename[]
Are the inverted commas really needed? --Blueeagleislander 22:49, 13 November 2006 (PST)
- Agree: This should be renamed to Elizabeth (sailboat). --SilvaStorm
- Agree Don't really have too many precedents here or formal standards for proper names of objects, but I guess this convention could follow that of Black Rock (ship). --PandoraX 19:54, 19 November 2006 (PST)
- Agree. Don't like the "" either.--EvilSmoke 17:13, 20 November 2006 (PST)
move/rename theories page[]
Can you also move/rename the theories page please? Sailboat ("Elizabeth")/Theories --> Elizabeth (sailboat)/Theories. Thanks! --Elvis 11:31, 21 November 2006 (PST)
