Revision as of 03:40, 20 April 2007

The article says that Eddie is a fan of Geronimo Jackson but this is incorrect. Eddie states, while meeting at members of the commune at the dinner table, that's it's his fathers shirt, and says it in a rather dismissive fashion. He doesn't actually state he's a fan. Remove this part of the entry or keep it there?

You're right about that - I'll change the phrasing in the intro. Bellemichelle 05:44, 19 October 2006 (PDT)

Am I allowed to add information specific to the episode now, or do I have to wait until all time zones have seen it? Too late now, so I could be in the dog house... --Brother 19:38, 18 October 2006 (PDT)

Very interesting...Of course there was another "Eddie" in a Locke flashback - the guy who was Cooper's security guard. He probably should have his own page too. --Kivipat

Am I the only one who sees a slight resemblance between Eddie and Karl? Compare: [1][2] --Justanother 07:31, 19 October 2006 (PDT)

They're both young and white with nervous eyes. But, it is worth theorizing about, if the connection between Mr. Friendly and the commune guy is worth theorizing about. Eddie and Karl look more alike than Commune guy and Tom, i think.--NotARedHerring 13:54, 19 October 2006 (PDT)

Rename

After the new information that has came to light in tonights eppisode the artice should be renamed Eddie Colburn... wilsbadkarma 22:33 EDT 18, OCT 2006

Was in the middle of it when you posted... --   Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 19:35, 18 October 2006 (PDT)

Jolly Good!! --wilsbadkarma 22:33 EDT 18, OCT 2006

"Eddie"

  • do we really need this? in my opinion the article should be named [[Edward Colburn]], and appropriate redirects put in place (in fact with the disambig page, we're halfway there). the "eddie" is implied in the edward, in fairness. see also Johnathan "John" Locke, where i think the same principle should apply. --kaini. 19:13, 19 October 2006 (PDT)

Rename to "Eddie Colburn"

I really see no valid reason for this article to be titled 'Edward "Eddie" Colburn', it really isn't unnecessary to use his birth name for the name of the article. If you've ever been to Wikipedia before, you would know that articles about people are titled by the names that they are best known by, for example: Malcom X (born as Malcolm Little), Eminem (born Marshall Bruce Mathers III), Chuck Norris (born Carlos Ray Norris), Mr. T (born Laurence Tureaud), Don Knotts (born Jesse Donald Knotts), and J. R. R. Tolkien (full name John Ronald Reuel Tolkien). The purpose of the title of an article is not to disclose the full name of the person that it is about, that information is something that belongs in the infobox next to "Name".

And if that isn't enough to convince you, then take a look at this article I found at Wikipedia on properly titling articles about people: Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people). I think that this is evidence enough that this article, as well as other articles here at Lostpedia, are inappropriately named and should be named for the first and last name that they are commonly known by in the show.

Therefore, I propose that the name of this article be changed from 'Edward "Eddie" Colburn', back to 'Eddie Colburn'. Who else agrees with me? -- Nahald 17:45, 13 November 2006

I tend to agree with this, and feel the same for pages such as Katherine "Kate" Austen and Johnathan "John" Locke(shouldn't it be obvious that Kate is short for Katherine and John is short for Johnathan anyway?). Might want to just leave a msg on Jabr's page about this. --PandoraX 09:49, 13 November 2006 (PST)

  • Merge - Agree with the reasons Pandora presented above. -- Liz
  • Agree: Rename. --SilvaStorm
  • I do agree with this one. However can I just re-iterate "WE ARE NOT WIKIPEDIA" just because they do something in their own special, elitist way, doesn't mean we should or do follow suit. Please forget Wikipedia's rules here. We are not them! -- Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  02:27, 16 November 2006 (PST)

Deleted Scene Pictures

This doesn't have to be in the main article, but can we mention that there were pictures of him in his cop gear busting the commune. While we didn't see this happen, it is a possibility that it did. I know it's mentioned on the episode's page, but the picture of him in police gear is not. This would be a good place for it. Tebor 14:21, 12 April 2007 (PDT)
