rename[]
- rename for capitalization. The word Husband is not part of a proper noun. Rename to: David (Libby's husband). -- Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯ Talk 03:48, 12 October 2006 (PDT)
- About the new rename (to David Smith) ... umm I'm not sure. I mean, for all we know, Smith is her maiden name. Let's not forget that David is dead, and that Libby could have returned to using her maiden name, even if she didn't while married, it's not the same thing as say Goodwin/Harper in my opinion ... --LeoChris 23:59, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
- It's getting ridicolous, this renaming. State your reasons, here and/or in the article. Because LeoChris is right: that Libby is called Smith doesn't mean her late husband is called Smith as well.Especially since she has been married three times. --LOST-Hunter61 04:18, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Illness[]
Is there basis in the episode dialogue for David's succumbing to an "illness"? I don't remember that. I always thought a doorway was left open for David to have been one of the people on Hurley's balcony. Robert K S (talk) 07:21, 7 March 2008 (PST)
- Libby said "I have a boat. It was my husband's but he got sick." in "Live Together, Die Alone, Part 1"--Phil (talk) 07:25, 7 March 2008 (PST)
- Guess that blows my theory! Thanks, cheers! Robert K S (talk) 07:32, 7 March 2008 (PST)
Rename back to David (Live Together, Die Alone)[]
First of all, I'm not the one who suggested it, so whoever suggested or is in favor of this rename please speak up. I see no reason why this rename needs to happen. The episode that the character was mentioned in seems far less relevant than his relation to a main character, but mainly I would like to see this article stop bouncing around from location to location without something even closely resembling a consensus on the talk page. Triptolemus 20:04, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
- I was the one who suggested that ... back when the article was titled David Smith. I don't mind the current title, but I don't have the authority to remove the rename tag. I think. --LeoChris 23:01, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
rename[]
per the naming of David (Confidence Man), Evelyn (Some Like It Hoth), Taxi driver (LA X, Parts 1 & 2) etc. --Orhan94 23:27, February 7, 2010 (UTC)
- In those cases, there are no better names for them than the episode names. Episode names should be used as a disambiguator as a last resort, certainly behind more discriptive disambiguating phrases like those that describe relationships. Anyway, this character never appeared in an episode. Robert K S tell me 00:17, February 8, 2010 (UTC)
- There is no evidence that Libby took her last name from David (she could have not changed her name, changed it but changed it back after he died or gotten it from another husband, if that deleted scene is canon). And now it appears that there is no page for David, just redirects between three or so different pages. --Golden Monkey 18:47, April 10, 2010 (UTC)
Rename to David Smith[]
According to the Lost Encyclopedia, his full name is David Smith.Sroczynski 15:33, December 7, 2010 (UTC)
- Sure... if the encyclopedia says so, why not?. --LeoChris 13:16, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
