re-birth theory.[]
some facts: juliet said to jack: "doesn´t matters who we was; the important is who we are"; juliet has two very different attitude: one in his past life, and another in the island; etc..etc. like this there are a lot of facts (i don´t want post a very long entry):
- the others are the original island people, living in the body of the dharma cientifics. what? ok: let me explain:
- the "islanders" had a great own lifestyle, with own gods, believes, etc; and they wasn´t friendly with dharma people, because they destroyed the island with the constructions, the stations, etc.
- then, there was a local "war" between they.
- some dharma experiment was the "security system": it was a cientific-technologic creation that could make a recreation of objects (like walt on the jungle, kate´s horse, birds, etc)
- the smoke is a part of this "thing", but it could read the minds and get information of it (remember eko´s vision thru the smoke; locke)
- a virus infected the local people, and killed lot of them. the dharma people had the own vaccines to avoid the illness
- the local people got the control of the station where the black smoke system was controlled, and USED IT TO MAKE A RE-BIRTH OF THEM IN THE BODY OF SOME DHARMA CIENTIFICS, allowed with the back-up of the all-mind-memories-feelings-entire-lives, maked with the system.
- now, the others are the BODY OF THE DHARMA CIENTIFICS, BUT THEY ARE REALLY THE ORIGINAL PEOPLE OF THE ISLAND
- this "change" of body has some problem: now, all of they are sterile
- they are building again the statue of his own god (the four finger feet statue): this is the construction that kate and sawyer were forced to build; it was destroyed in the "war" with the dharma people
- for this, the dharma people called "hostiles" some group of people; for this they called ex-militars to joined, like kelvin. --Fuzter lost 22:47, 6 March 2007 (PST)
- If time does work differenly on the island, couldn't Hurley and Libby be younger versions of Gerald and Karen De Groot.
The DHARMA initiative has it's roots in the future.[]
- The DHARMA initiative is set up by somebody from the future. The person who set this all up, knew that in the end, mankind will eliminate itself. This person might have been Jacob's nemesis, as Jacob hates technology. Although we seem to know that the De Groots set up the DHARMA initiative, what exactly do we know about them? They might be timetravellers from the future. Or Jacob's nemesis might have travelled to the past, to manipulate them into setting up the initiative, just like Jacob went back in time to manipulate the timelines of the losties. --Dennisernst 01:41, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- If my above theory is true, this might explain the wide presence of DHARMA brands on the island. Why would an organization make their own groceries, playing cards and medicine, just for a small crew that is on the island? It would be much cheaper to buy from allready existing manufacturers like Kellogs or existing pharmaceutical companies, instead of setting up DHARMA factories to produce their own cornflakes, peanut butter and medicine. The reason for this is because the founder of the DHARMA initiative is from modern time, but DHARMA was set up in a time that all these modern products didn't yet exist. Therefore they had to make their own stuff, or at least present it as made by DHARMA.--Dennisernst 01:41, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- Maybe it is even the DHARMA initiative that is responsible for the eventual destruction of mankind. Jacob hates technology. Maybe he knows it will eventually lead to the ending.--Dennisernst 01:41, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
DHARMA was started by the Others[]
- The Others have an interest in bringing scientists and other specialists to the Island to help them with specific problems but not to make them "full members". Their use of Mittelos Bioscience to recruit Juliet is a more modern example of this - she was brought in to help with the pregnancy problems, but seems to have very little knowledge of the inner workings and purpose of the Others. DHARMA could have been used by the Others as a cover to bring scientists like Horace and Pierre to investigate the Island while hiding their true agenda. (Mirth23 23:22, November 19, 2009 (UTC))
- DHARMA seemed to have enough foreknowledge of the properties of the Island and acceptance by the Others to be able to establish a working foothold. They knew to build a protective fence to ward off the smoke monster, and built a Barracks house on top of the monster summoning pool so that it was useful but also hidden from the majority of DHARMA personnel. (Mirth23 23:22, November 19, 2009 (UTC))
- The Orchid seemed to be built in a way to allow scientists to investigate the properties of the area while at the same time hiding the fact that the wheel was present from the scientists who were conducting studies. Whoever originally built the Orchid must have known about the wheel because they also removed the well. (Mirth23 23:22, November 19, 2009 (UTC))
- The whole "hostile" thing could have been a ruse to keep DHARMA personnel who were not in the know frightened from going outside the confines of "safe" DHARMA locations. This meant the scientists and specialists would only see what those at the top wanted them to see. (Mirth23 23:22, November 19, 2009 (UTC))
- The purge could have been the result of DHARMA leaders finding out too much and becoming a threat to the Others. (Mirth23 23:22, November 19, 2009 (UTC))
- This theory also explains some other seeming inconsistencies such as why the food drops continue happening, why a number of DHARMA people ended up as Others, why Ben used a DHARMA logo for the Temple, and why Kelvin was recruited by DHARMA after the purge. DHARMA was always the Others, so they kept using some aspects of DHARMA when it was useful. (Mirth23 23:22, November 19, 2009 (UTC))
