Really called the Grotto?

The ehnahnced epsiode "Lighthouse" referred to the Cliffside Cave as a "something" grotto. Should there be a name change?--Lucky Day 17:49, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

This page needs a screencap. (Jack Dutton 05:42, February 17, 2010 (UTC))

O' Toole written in cave

I'm guessing this is a easter egg/shout out to Noreen O' Toole. Though I'd wait to add it to trivia until we know for sure. Congested 06:10, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

This page lists a Costa at both 75 and 175. Is this indeed the case, or is there just one of 75/175? --Blueeagleislander 09:14, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

I see martin, this could be Karl Martin or Martin Keamy.--Station7 09:18, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Probably Karl, since everyone else seems to be listed by last name.--Tim Thomason 09:22, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Martin is on the list twice. --InTheLoop 20:54, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

I see it.--Station7 20:56, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

The Troup listing at 90 and the "Roup____ (Possibly Rousseau)" at 20 are possibly/probably referring to the same listing on the wall. Is there a way to compare the cited names (sceencaps with highlights perhaps, though that'd be a big project)? --Iamgod55 09:43, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think we can conclusively secure that this is indeed Rousseau...all captions I've reviewed still shows Roup, I think Roup should be kept up there with the indication that it could be Rousseau until further investigation has shown otherwise. --Testdrug 12:32, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

It's not the same name. Troup is written on the ceiling near Littleton, while Roup is on the wall right above Shepherd. Rawr? 15:05, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

The first five letters are pretty clearly Rouss. Some people must be confusing the strikeout line as part of the letters, and also thinking that the bottom curve on the first S is actually a tail on the U. That's the only way you could see a P. If you concentrate on ignoring the strikeout lines and that the U has no tail, it becomes obvious that it is ROUSS____. --TheYar 19:17, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

This is precisely what we need for many of the other unclear names. Easy steps showing, clearly, how a name is identified. Flashesb4ur8s 06:33, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

Ok, I'm changing the article to read Rousseau. I've got another gif that makes it even clearer. [2] --TheYar 12:09, February 23, 2010 (UTC)

Entries For Unidentified Names?

Do we really need lostpedia entries for names that haven't been clarified and we have no idea who these people are? It just seems to be a waste of space based on unreliable information. At least until we get some good screen caps of these names. --Testdrug 13:06, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

A lot of this page's information is redundant with Candidates; should we consolidate to one page? Or at least consolidate the list of people to just one page? -- Managerpants  Contribs  Talk  16:36, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

I first posted a partial list of names in the hopes that members of Lostpedia community could join forces and provide a more complete list. I think we should wait to definitive list before we start consolidating it. --SoNickPick 17:37, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Agreed (with Managerpants). We should merge as soon as possible, it's extremely redundant. Gingle87 19:54, February 17, 2010 (UTC)Gingle87

Anyone else think it is interesting that most people who have spend a significant amount of time on the island are listed but Desmond is not? NandR 17:49, February 17, 2010 (UTC)Nikki

Not really. There are a lot of names not listed. I find it more interesting that Widmore and Hawking aren't listed, even though they both acted as leader of the Others. -- Managerpants  Contribs  Talk  17:53, February 17, 2010 (UTC)
Oh that is VERY interesting! Widmore might not be listed due to his indiscretions off the island?
I think it's premature to discuss who is not listed. We haven't had a clear shot of the whole wall yet. --Butseriouslyfolks 18:29, February 17, 2010 (UTC)
Agreed. :-) -- Managerpants  Contribs  Talk  18:31, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

"Linus" name is also crossed-out, but if it does not represent Roger, but Ben, he is also alive (Miles is another one as Trivia section mentiones). --V-vk 22:05, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Am I Crazy ?

Thinking that this page needs some serious screencaps for evidence before we get to a list of names that's closing on 50 ? LEHLegacy 19:27, February 17, 2010 (UTC)LEHLegacy

"Out of these, Rousseau can only refer to female characters, while male Rutherfords and Burkes have not been known to visit the Island..." It seems silly to single out Rousseau. If you're saying it's possible for there to be other Rutherfords and Burkes, what limits the Rousseau name to only Danielle and Alex? Especially considering the jury is still out on whether or not Robert was her husband. --Jacknicholson 20:40, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

What male Burkes have been on the island? Juliet's husband died off the island. Same goes for Rutherfords, Shannon's dad died off the island and Boone had an entirely different name. Kajillion 00:22, February 18, 2010 (UTC)
I'm not saying I believe there were other Rutherfords and Burkes on the island - I'm saying the status of the Rousseau name is no different, and does not warrant the definitive statement of "can only refer to female characters" more than Rutherford and Burke.--Jacknicholson 12:20, February 18, 2010 (UTC)
Because we've met male Rutherfords and male Burkes, but no male Rousseaus. --Orhan94 12:32, February 23, 2010 (UTC)

Mortar and Pestle

On the table with the oud and scales are a mortar and pestle. In What Kate Does we see Dogen use a mortar and pestle to grind the substance for Sayid's poison capsule. Any significance?--InTheLoop 21:12, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

A lot of names missing.

ROUSSEAU is below LOCKE to the right and slopes diagonally down, BURKE is below ROUSSEAU to the left, CHANG is above ROUSSEAU to the right and slopes diagonally up. Topdeck 00:57, February 18, 2010 (UTC) Topdeck 01:03, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

Can someone please post screencaps for all the names that are listed in the Candidates article? In those screencaps, can the names be circled? Thanx.--LOST-Tone 15:45, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

We do know his last name, don't we? I'm sure it's Tunde or something like that. BelleMacFarlane 15:47, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

According to his page, we're not sure about his surname, as Tunde may be an alias. Hope that helps! -- Managerpants  Contribs  Talk  16:10, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

What implies it's an alias? I'm pretty sure it's as legitimate as say, Alpert or Ford. BelleMacFarlane 16:16, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

It's been awhile since I've seen those episodes, but I'm pretty sure that name was only ever used when he was a priest in Australia ("Father Tunde") and never earlier when he was in Nigeria. So it may be an alias used to hide his past. -- Managerpants  Contribs  Talk  16:26, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

After Man In Black and Sawyer walk into the larger room of the cave, where the names are written on the wall/ceiling, MIB hands the torch to Sawyer and when Sawyer is walking around the room a smaller portion of the cave can be seen with a ladder leading somewhere. Is this something that should be recorded now? Or should it be discussed if/when the cliffside cave is visited again? --Jake1453 21:04, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

  • I also noticed the ladder and it looks like a light source coming down from wherever it leads. When Sawyer fell an important section of the outside ladder fell away with him leaving it impossible to climb back up the way they came down. It probably should be noted here now since at this point of the story it is likely to be a clue of things to come. --OolonColluphid 22:55, March 20, 2010 (UTC)
  • Here is an image showing the ladder in the lower left of the picture. I'm a novice at posting to this wiki, especially images, so I'm putting it here and let a more experienced user put it wherever appropriate.--OolonColluphid 04:29, March 23, 2010 (UTC)

Almeida was misspelled as Almieda, and I've seen it also as Almeda in a number of other places. Although the screen cap is not clear as to the exact spelling on the show, I'm changing it to Almeida, since it is a common portuguese surname.

Red Light Trivia?

The blinking red light in the cave may not be a production error. I can't say for sure, but after taking a closer look at the blinking light I'm beginning to think it may one of the video cameras that we have seen monitoring various locations around the island. Many of those cameras have had visable blinking red lights when in operation. Can anyone with a real good high def recording take a closer look to confirm? --OolonColluphid 04:51, March 23, 2010 (UTC)
