i love how it says "profession: baby" on the character info thingy. --Nathew 20:09, 25 October 2006 (PDT)
- Well, that's a full time job, keeping the mother on her toes. I wouldn't want to have that occupation again! --Joffeloff 06:52, 18 March 2007 (PDT)
While I could see a baby being allowed into a visiting room of a prison, they'd most likely just allow it in one of the visiting rooms with the windows or in a more controlled space. I doubt they'd let one in to a room where a number of prisoners are all wandering freely. --Minderbinder 15:53, 26 October 2006 (PDT)
On the Island
Supposition: Clementine Phillips was aboard the flight, he name being Emma. She was rescued by Ana-Lucia when the tail section crashed, and is now held captive by the Others along with her brother Zack. We would need to know when Sawyer was in prison and learned about his daughter, or more background information on Zack and Emma themselves. --Destoo 18:32, 28 October 2006 (PDT)
Not possible. See my explanation for Clementine's possible age. --823freckles 03:48, 20 October 2007 (PDT)
Clementine cannot be Sawyer's real daughter. The baby looks at most 4-6 months old. Sawyer has been in prison for 9 months. There is no doubt that it took some time for the authorities to track down Sawyer, as well as to investigate and prosecute him, meaning that Sawyer has not slept with Cassidy for at least 14 months. Cassidy would have had to be visibly pregnant at trial, meaning that Sawyer would have known of her pregnancy prior to her visit to prison.
As agreed, the last six years of your sentence have been commuted.
I would believe if he had been convicted of fraud it should have been more than 7 years. We would need to know how much time elapsed between the trial and the meeting. Cassidy might not have been at the trial at all, although I would think she had to be present if she is the one who "pressed charges". Estimates above (provided by Goodonesawyer) are the "quickest case" scenario and should not be used to prove Clementine is not Sawyer's daughter --Destoo 12:29, 29 October 2006 (PST)
- Excellent mathematics, but we are all assuming that Cassidy brought a recent picture of the baby. That's not necessarily true. And it wouldn't make her less of a doting mother, either. Maybe she didn't get around to updating the picture she carries with her, or maybe she's not sure she wants Sawyer to know what Clementine currently looks like. Even though we all know Sawyer wouldn't hurt children -- quite the opposite! -- Cassidy probably doesn't know that. --Amberjet11 13:19, 29 October 2006 (PST)
One last "baby photo" comment
One other reason Cassidy wouldn't bring her daughter to a visit with Sawyer: showing off a baby is something you do with people you like. —Zicsoft 16:30, 1 May 2007 (PDT)
How old is Clementine?
I wanted to try to figure out how old Clementine would be when the plane crashed (September 22 2004). It's actually best traceable by following it through Kate's timeline, if you can believe it. Kate killed Wayne when she was 24. She is a gemini and we know she crashed on-island at 27, so she blew up the house between May/June 2001 and May/June 2002. Born to Run happens sometime in 2002 according to lostpedia. At least Left Behind has to happen before Born to Run, because Kate's mother isn't visible sick yet. That is the episode in which she meets Cassidy. Cassidy tells Kate she is pregnant, but she isn't showing. So at most, she is around 4 months pregnant, and the earliest Left Behind could take place would be June 2001. That would make Clementine 34 months old (born Nov 2001) when the plane crashed. On the other end of things, if Born to Run takes place in 2002 (at latest, Dec 2002) and you put Left Behind in Dec 2002 as well (unlikely that Kate's mother would get so sick so fast), and Cassidy is maybe only a month pregnant, then Clementine would be born in August 2003, and would be 13 months old in September 2004, when the plane crashes. It is more likely somewhere in between, not the extremes. Clementine is probably around two-years-old when the plane crashes. --823freckles
- Funny, I was just thinking about Kate's timeline the other day. :) I think you're pretty much on the right track, except that Left Behind is pretty well tied down to 2001. We know from the airport flashback in Exodus 2 that the Marshal had been chasing Kate for three years, placing What Kate Did in 2001. In Left Behind, Kate tells Cassidy that she killed Wayne "a few months ago", so What Kate Did had to have been in summer 2001, and not fall, otherwise it would've made the scenes in Left Behind very cold, snowy, and without leaves on the trees (Iowa, remember). So if the earliest Kate could've killed Wayne was late May 2001, then the earliest Left Behind could've been would be August/Sep. And the latest I would place it would be November, based on the outdoor scenes. So if the most Cassidy could've been pregnant was four months, the earliest conception date would've been April/May, with a January 2002 birthday. And the latest I would place it would be a November conception, with an August 2002 birthday. So, I think the window is smaller than what you were suggesting. I say Clementine is between 23 and 32 months old at the time of the crash. -- 23:44, 17 October 2007 (PDT)
