Maybe this should be renamed "Cats", and if Nadia becomes prominant later she can have her own page? Kivipat01:13, 8 March 2007 (PST)

  • Yeah, I was considering this also when I named the page, but instead just made Cats (and Nadia (Cat)) redirects. I wasn't sure how I would go about it at first, but having looked at them, I think they are definitely two different individuals. I think I'll rename it now. --PandoraX 12:20, 8 March 2007 (PST)

I took out the "possible allusion" to The Prisoner, which I agree, likely had a lot of influence on Lost, but the black cat appearances don't necessarily have to relate to these cats. --PandoraX 12:29, 8 March 2007 (PST)

Polydactylism?[]

Is the cat Nadia polydactyl ? It looks to me like she has the kind of "big feet" that one sees on cats with extra toes. However I haven't been able to find a definitive screen capture to confirm or deny.--EmmaAmethyst 01:42, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Cat people...[]

  • Do either of these cats fall into a certain identifiable type or breed? --PandoraX 12:29, 8 March 2007 (PST)
  • By their type, color, and coat length, they could conceivably fit a few different breeds. Siberian, Norwegian Forest Cat, Turkish Angora, or Maine Coon. A Turkish Angora seems the most likely for Amira's cat because of geography - that's practically the only kind of cat in the Middle East, but he doesn't really look like one to me; he looks like a Forest Cat. It seems most likely that Nadia is a Siberian (a breed originating in Northern Russia). As this was shot in Hawaii, they're probably Maine Coons/domestic longhairs that look like Maine Coons. They are the same color; silver classic tabby and white - but they don't have identical patterns. That's not a common color combination in Forest Cats, Angoras, or Maine Coons, really, but the the CFA website, which has a copy of all of their breed standards, does list silver classic tabby and white as an accepted color for each of those four breeds. I don't know Siberians well, having only seen them in real life twice, but I know they have a lot of tabbies and I've seen a silver tabby. So my vote is that Nadia is a Siberian, and Amira's cat is a Turkish Angora (despite the fact that she looks a lot more Maine-Coon-y than Turkish-Angora-y).--meganirene 16:52, 5 April 2007 (PDT)
    • Amira found the cat in an alley in Paris, so there's no need for it to be a Middle Eastern race. I have nothing like your knowledge of cats, but Maine Coone or small-ish Forest Cat seems like a safe bet. --DharmaAndWreck 17:07, 5 April 2007 (PDT)
