4,815,162,342 is a ridiculous amount of beans to have in a 'jar.' I would've guessed it to be 108 at first glance, but then who'd give away 50 grand for that? Still, imagine 4 BILLION beans. at 1 milligram each that's still 400,000 kg or 881,000 lbs (420 tons). Even if you set it at 10 to a milligram (88,100 lbs), or 100 to a milligram (8,810 lbs) you're still talking tons of beans (42 and 4.2 respectively). 7 million may seem a tad more reasonable, but take a look at this link and see just what 100,000 jelly beans look like.

Phone number?[]
It just occurred to me that 7418880 is seven digits long - the length of an American phone number, minus the three-digit area code. Wonder if that's meaningful at all. --Shodan1138 20:30, 2 August 2006 (PDT)
Maybe. Try 1-800-741-8880. I don't know if anything's there, but it could be like a hidden clue for TLE or something. --Fezir 22:19, 2 August 2006 (PDT)
- There's nothing there; the number just rings forever. ...... Woah! But using the 877 prefix, you get a fax machine. Or, possibly, a modem on answer-mode. Honestly, my "maybe it's a phone number" thing was kind of tongue-in-cheek. I wasn't expecting that I'd get any kind of answer when dialing it. :) (I suspect that the modem answering is simply sheer coincidence - probably some company that's never even heard of the show, much less the Lost Experience. But, on the other hand, this is Lost we're talking about....) --Shodan1138 23:01, 2 August 2006 (PDT)
I called it a while back using the same area code as the TLE phone numbers (I think 818? Maybe 888..) and it was just this lady at her house who was very confused. --Splooie 09:20, 17 March 2008 (PDT)
7438880[]
Err but surely the numbers are 7438880? That looks like a 3 on the monitor to me.ChenGOD 08:00, 12 October 2006 (PDT)
- I agree thas looks much more of a 3 than a one.MitchellA
- i tend to agree, but a larger screencap would be nice to confirm. --kaini. 21:01, 22 October 2006 (PDT)

- Looks like a "1" to me, albeit an odd typeface with large serifs (based loosely on a MICR font), and perhaps some pixelation, glare, or interlace artifact at center. 7438880 does not make sense, where as 7418880 does. I'd say we should require discovery and examination of that exact typeface before making a change to the article name to the 3 version. -- Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯ Talk 18:18, 25 March 2007 (PDT)
- I agree that it looks like a "1" in that type of font and it makes more sense in the context of Lost. Here's a higher resolution picture (link to a screen capture by user TPTP from Losttv-forum.com): [1]. It looks clearly like a "1" to me. -- Cheers (talk) 18:47, 25 March 2007 (PDT)
7 million years ago[]
With the entire evolution theory on the island, is it possible that the numbers multiplied value of 7,418,880 has something to do with that. Findings have unveiled that around 7 million years ago humans split with chimps and this would be the time period of the oldest known ancestor to man, possibly the oldest ancestor we have because who's to say ano older ancestor will be found. I can't explain why this may be relevant to the island, but if this is where humanity began, then perhaps the Dharma initiative, think of the time travel theory, had something to do with everything that evolution has brought.

Proposal to merge with The Numbers[]
- Merge. Considering the highly debatable content, this doesn't deserve its own article. --Hunter61 08:21, 28 October 2007 (PDT)
- Don't Merge - In discussions above, the exact number displayed was concluded as confirmed; it also makes for an irrefutable logic. As we also have an article for 108, keeping this article seems fine. If there is a controversy, then that should be noted in a subsection with citations. -- Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯ Talk 19:31, 28 October 2007 (PDT)
- Don't Merge - I agree with Santa; if there are articles for 108 and 325, then 7418880 warrants its own article. --Slugless 18:22, 9 December 2007 (PST)
- Merge. We have too many small articles of little value; this is at most a subsection under numbers. The litmus test should be "would anyone search for 7418880", and if they do, at most we can keep a redirect here. -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 21:38, 21 March 2008 (PDT)
- Don't merge, it's useful to have articles for the sum and the product of the numbers. Robert K S (talk) 09:29, 25 March 2008 (PDT)
