• Hurley will soon leave Locke's group and join Jack's, since Hurley told Jack in "The Beginning of the End" that he was sorry he went with Locke.

• We don't even know if the factions will last that long at all. Locke's followers are mainly with him out of respect for Charlie. Once the intentions of the group on the boat become clear (which can't take too long) they may all just fold back into one.
• Some of the members of Jack's group (Kate and Juliet for example) will align themselves with the freigher people regardless of the consequences to the majority of the survivors and those who went with Locke. The Oceanic Six will sell out everyone else on the Island so they can go home.

• One of the groups will run across the Others heading for the Temple, or will actually find the Temple.
