John Locke's suicide note was given to Jack by Eloise Hawking. It was a handwritten note in an envelope addressed to Jack Shephard.
The note read only: "I wish you had believed me" and was signed "JL".
Jack originally refused to read the note, putting it in Locke's casket. After reading the note on Ajira Airways Flight 316, Jack awoke on the Island.
