Main Article Theories about
Stuart Radzinsky
Main Discussion
Theories may be removed if ...
  1. Stated as questions or possibilities (avoid question marks, "Maybe", "I think", etc).
  2. More appropriate for another article.
  3. Illogical or previously disproven.
  4. Proven by canon source, and moved to main article.
  5. Speculative and lacking any evidence to support arguments.
  6. Responding to another theory (use discussion page instead).
  • This does not include responses that can stand alone as its own theory.
  • Usage of an indented bullet does not imply the statement is a response.

See the Lostpedia theory policy for more details.

Actions

  • The glass eye in the Arrow was his, or at least placed there by him along with the section of the Swan Orientation Film.
    • It is more likely to belong to Mikhail.
      • Have you seen Mikhail's eye (the one underneath his patch?) There's skin over his eye.
        • That's why he doesn't use the glass eye anymore. I believe he use to.
          • Are you implying he grew skin over his eye?
            • Well how do you think he grew skin over h-... wait. Isn't this about Radzinsky?
              • Oh my god you idiots! They sowed the skin together!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • He edited the Swan Orientation Film as "insurance" in case he was killed or replaced before his plan came to fruition. He wanted his and Kelvin's replacements to stop pushing the button, thereby triggering a system failure that would give away the location of the Island.
    • He removed all information about the nature of the Incident and the consequences of a system failure because he wanted the viewer to suspect that all the information in the film is meaningless and that nothing will happen if the button is not pushed.
    • He left the reference to B.F. Skinner in the film because he wanted the viewer to conclude that the Swan Station is nothing but a giant Skinner box.
    • He removed Dr. Marvin Candle's warning about contacting the outside world because he wanted the viewer to attempt such a contact. (Perhaps this implies that the world can, in fact, be contacted via the DHARMA computer system.)
    • He smuggled the deleted footage out in the hollowed-out Bible for the same reason that he and Kelvin hid the map on the blast door - because he didn't want the people running the experiment to know what he was up to.

Identity

  • Radzinsky was a Hostile.
    • This is strongly suggested by the Latin on the blast map, a language Juliet reveals is an Others distinctive.
  • The map purpose was to search for DHARMA debilities and gather intelligence in order o shut down DHARMA.
    • He infiltrated the Swan, edited out the information about the incident, which was the Purge, and then killed himself so that no one would know their secrets.
    • Radzinsky assisted the Others with their first incidents, and conspired with them to "save" infant Alex from her insane mother Danielle in 1988; he kept her in the Swan until Dharma brought in Inman in 1991 or early '92, when he then gave her back to the Others pre-Purge. In return, they were spared in the Purge as long as they kept the Swan functional. Inman may never have been informed of the details. Radzinsky either died or killed himself before he could tell Inman the truth.
  • Radzinsky isn't anyone we've met thus far. He's an unseen character who will be introduced in one of Ben's flashbacks.
    • He IS someone we've met(possibly a major character) using a false name due to the Season 5 time jumping issues. Hence, we've never met or seen him.
  • Radzinsky is Jacob. (See Jacob/Theories.)
    • Jacob is associated with Biblical imagery, as in "God loves you as he loved Jacob". In the same way, Radzinsky seems to have possibly been a Christian (unlike the other, more Buddhism-oriented DHARMA employees), since he chose to hide the edited film within a Bible.
      • The idea that Jacob was somehow involved with the DHARMA Initiative is supported by the orientation film for the Orchid.
    • If Jacob is a ghost of some sort (perhaps created by the unique properties of the Swan), he could be Radzinsky without needing any explanation for how Radzinsky would survive shooting himself in the head.
      • We learned from Jughead that Jacob was on the Island in 1954, way earlier than DHARMA, so he was certainly not created by the Swan
  • It seems possible, now with time travel, that Radzinksy may actually be Daniel Faraday. He has the intelligence to make the map, we seem him back in time with the Dharma initiative, and he would seem a likely canidate. The only question is why he would kill himself, if "he" actually did. "Radzinksy" could be dead, perhaps Faraday is not.
    • And now we have that information! Daniel killed himself because he knows that dying on the Island causes some kind of post death existence, like the Whispers. He fulfilled his destiny of drawing the Blast Door Map (which is simply a collection of all his knowledge on the DI that has been written on the Blast Door Map with the intention of people seeing it AFTER the incident occurs, which will cause the blast doors to come down) and then rejoined Charlotte as quickly as he could. Other reasons include:
      • His knowledge of technology which could help with his faking the Blast Doors.
      • His editing the video--his motives for this could have been people not knowing of the incident, and subsequently the Blast Door Map.
        • He also could have edited the video to remove himself or his voice from it. He would have known Desmond would end up down there.
  • Maybe we will meet S.Radzinsky in some near future, and we will see that he was in fact, part of DHARMA and he retreated to Swan Station after the purge in 1992.

Death

  • He was murdered by Kelvin.
  • This is supported by the writings in the Via Domus version of the blast door mapas it states in the Outside, Middle Left: "K. BEHAVING STRANGELY; CAN'T TRUST; HAVE TO WATCH OUT" . K. probably referring to Kelvin Inman.
    • Kelvin shot Radzinsky in the head when Radzinsky told Kelvin that he wanted to leave, much like Desmond later kills Kelvin when he finds out that he wants to leave. In both cases, the cause of death is a head wound.
      • From Kelvin's description of him, Radzinsky didn't sound like someone who would commit suicide. Kelvin also didn't want to talk about his death - he may have killed him and been feeling guilty about it.
      • The punctuation is ambiguous. K. could be an abbreviation of Kelvin, or it could be K,, a message directed to Kelvin to warn him of someone's, perhaps Radzinsky's own, strange behavior.
    • Considering where the blood stain is, it's almost impossible that Radzinsky was murdered.
      • The stain was faked. It could have been anything.
    • Kelvin killed him, because Radzinsky was trying to leave the island, using the boat Rousseau and her team arrived on.
  • The skeleton in the polar bear cave was Radzinsky.
    • This is supported by the fact that the top part of the skull is missing, note that shotguns are extremely powerful.
    • When Desmond asked Kelvin where he buried Radzinsky, he said he only had 108 minutes to do it. He may have not buried him well and a polar bear dug him up.
    • His body could have been dug up by one of the bears, or even a Boar.
    • Although it has a Pearl logo on the shirt, this could just mean that Radzinsky was originally an operative at the Pearl station who was forced to move to the Swan when he saw something (e.g., the former button-pushers dying) on the Pearl's monitors.
      • This is not possible because Kelvin and Radsinsky never reach the pearl; on the blast door map there is a ? instead of "the pearl" because they never discover what is that station for.
  • There is nothing unusual about Radsinsky's death, and everything Kelvin said was true.
  • Radzinsky knew he was not going to leave the island and he had a replacement (Kelvin). He had no regrets for dying after he taught Kelvin his secrets.
  • Radzinsky could have been a close friend of Kelvin's and did commit suicide which affected Kelvin which could've made him not want to talk about his death as Radzinsky was a close friend of his.
    • Inman was an officer in the Gulf War. He made Sayid torture his commanding officer because the latter would not cooperate while Sayid translated a language that Inman was fluent in. His compassio it's doubtfuk.
  • After a long time without replacements (due to the purge) Radzinsky began to explore the island, creating the blast door map while Kelvin pushed the button. After much exploration he realized the rest of Dharma were gone. Feeling like he'd been left behind with no replacements coming he became depressed and shot himself.
    • He may also have discovered the video in The Pearl, lowering his morale further.
      • The he wouldn't mark it as a "?" on his map.
        • He made the question mark on the map and on the ground above the station after he discovered it, because it furthered the mystery of whether the button he was pushing actually did anything
  • Radzinsky was infected with the sickness.
  • Radzinksy shot himself while traveling back and forth in time from the past to the present because he could not handle the pain.
  • Radzinsky didn't kill himself, nor is he dead! Perhaps...
