There has been no evidence provided from the show to even remotely suggest this so this is a pure wild guess.
Shannon is really 22 because on the Pre-crash timeline it says that Sarah had her accident in 2001, which would also be the same time as Adam Rutherford's death. At Adam's wake Shannon mentions that she is 18.

What Walt said was "Don't press the button. Button Bad" backwards. It was certainly a Monster impersonation to lead her to her death.

Yes, Walt used his special ability and appeared to Shan. But he didn't lead her to Ana Lucía. He wanted Shannon to be quiet and not be killed.

Shannon may still be alive, in "Abandoned" there were whispers and Walt appeared, maybe Shannon was abducted by the Others like Cindy and then the Monster took her form to fool Sayid and Ana Lucia into hating each other and causing strife among the survivors of Flight 815, for unknown reasons like most of what the Monster does.
Shannon's ghost will appear to Sayid in the future telling him he has to go back to the Island just like Charlie appears to Hurley.
After the Island was moved,she will come back to life and participate in the war against Charles Widmore and the people who work for him.

If you watch the scene in which Shannon has sex with Boone, they don't look as though they're thinking about contraception. ("Hearts and Minds")
Shannon was pregnant by Boone, and the Other's, knowing her background, somehow surmised this and planned to capture her. Disregarding Walt's image seemingly "leading" her to her death, the twist of fate here is that Ana Lucia killed a pregnant woman's child when the same thing had happened to her. The Others discovered this and manipulated Michael into specifically killing Ana Lucia for this.
