The Monster in the form of Walt, led her to Ana-Lucia, who killed her.
Died in "Hearts & Minds" and Monster took the shape of her later on.
Was killed because she was meant to be in the front section of the plane.
Shannon may still be alive, in Abandoned there were whispers and Walt appeared, maybe Shannon was abducted by the Others like Cindy and then the monster took her form to fool Sayid and Ana Lucia into hating each other and causing strife among the survivors of Flight 815, for unknown reasons like most of what the monster does.

Shannon fell pregnant after she slept with Sayid in "Abandoned".
- The Others were aware of this and therefore they asked Michael to kill Ana Lucia because she had prevented Shannon from becoming their test case.
- We don't know how the Others get their information.
Walt might have overheard that the Others knew about her pregnancy and were going to capture her. In order to save her, he tries to use his possible power of projecting his image to her as a warning.
No one can determine pregnancy just after the night of intercourse.

Shannon will be one of the reported 'many deceased characters' appearing in Season Four. She will appear as a vision to Sayid in a future episode, possibly his flashback/flashforward episode.
