ABC Medianet Hurley's discovery of an old, wrecked car on the island leads him on a mission of hope not only for himself, but for a fellow survivor in need of some faith. Meanwhile, Kate and Sawyer reunite with their fellow castaways, but Kate is still torn about leaving Jack behind with "The Others."
ABC/Touchtone promotional pictures The wrecked van features a Dharma-logo on the frontside. Beside it sits the skeleton of a Dharma-employee. On his overall one sees the Swan-logo, his job-title ('workman') and his name: Roger. Vincent carries around one of Roger's arms (with a key and a rabbitleg in its hand). The van carried Dharma-beer. Sawyer and Jin join Hurley to consume some of it.
ABC previews Sawyer releases Karl. After the reunion Kate is planning to go back to rescue Jack, but first she goes off to seek some help.
Rumor A rumor is that Damon Lindelof will make a small cameo in this episode.
Ask Ausiello Cheech Marin will guest star as Hurley's father, David Reyes.

Digital Spy's "Tube Talk" The source states that Claire will die trying to rescue Charlie from a huge accident. It is reported that the episode will also see the last of baby Aaron.

Lost Extra Dustin Watchman (The actor that played Scott) says he has finished filming scenes for this episode and to expect to see animals on the island we haven't previously seen before. He also confirmed that this was an on-island flashback and that there were also scenes of the plane crashing.
Van Matthews In an on Island flashback,Paolo is seen in the ocean, diving through wreckage of Oceanic 815. He finds a bag of diamonds emblazoned with a logo of an unknown fashion magazine. This scene was shot in collaboration with the crew of Grey's Anatomy, who were also shooting underwater scenes. This was the first time that ABC's top two programs have collaborated in such a way.
SpoilerFix Flashbacks will center around Nikki and Paulo. While even Lindelof acknowledges that Nikki and Paulo are "universally despised" by fans, that's going to change, he vows: "We had a plan when we introduced them, and we didn't get to fully execute that plan. But when the plan is executed, Nikki and Paulo will be iconic characters on the show."

Channel 4 (UK) Richard and Judy [1] On UK Show "Richard and Judy", in an interview with Carlton Cuse, writer and executive producer of Lost via sattellite, he confirmed that the Charlie problem would be resolved in episode 16 which then he later confirmed the title as "The Truth About Lying".
Media Guardian [2] To quote " That's the truth about lying Charlie, you'll always get found out. But if you don't, then you have to live with that." This could possibly be said by Claire, Desmond or Locke.

  • BuddyTV states that Arzt will return in flashback. Also, two major characters will die by the end of the series (not including Eko, who has already died).
  • In the R.T.E Guide season three spoiler it is stated that two major characters will find out they are brother and sister , presumably Jack is the brother because his father , Christian, had a daughter who was living in Australia.
  • We have not seen the last of Michael and Walt.
  • We will be seeing Bernard and Rose again.
  • There will be revelations relating to the Season 2 finale scene of an Arctic scenario: “Not in these first batch of episodes, but by the end of the season, we will be paying off that reveal in a very significant way. The idea that Penny is looking for Desmond is something that comes in to play [in episode 308] but it doesn’t pay off on the island until the finale [of the season].”
  • We’ll learn more about Nicki and Paulo in episode 314.
  • It sounds as though Juliet and Ben will be around for a while. More on that from Lindelof: “I think it’s safe to say that we will see the last of Alcatraz Island [where Jack, Sawyer and Kate were held] by around the ninth episode of Season 3. Then we’ll be shaking things up a bit. … I love Ben and Juliet, I think they are the face of the Others right now, they are fascinating characters that we still have many stories to tell. I would not fear their death any time soon. Although a lot of people hate them and want them to die.”
  • There will be a big reminder this season that on the island, it’s still November of 2004 and only three months have passed, which will help lead to “a major shakeup coming soon.”
  • According to Australian tvguide, Juliet is Ben's ((ex-)?)wife.
  • The Tsunami and Indian Ocean Earthquake of December 26, 2004 will have an affect on the Island. While it hasn't yet occurred on the show, it happened in real life and will likely factor into the show, as hinted by the producers in an interview with the Chicago Tribune. [15]

  • Libby will be appear in the flashbacks of other characters in Season 3, much like how Christian Shephard has. At Comic Con, it was also stated that mysteries surrounding her character will also be explored.
  • On the official Lost Podcast it was said that Neil Frogurt will become a more pivotal character and have flashbacks.
  • Maggie Grace will reappear in Season 3, most probably in flashbacks of other characters[16].
  • Patchy will become a prominent character after the hiatus.
