Proven by canon source, and moved to main article. Speculative and lacking any evidence to support arguments. Responding to another theory (use discussion page instead). The "science v. faith" theme may be reflected in the factions of the Others. The DHARMA Initiative may have been the "Science" group that came into conflict with the pre-existing "Faith" group. Benjamin Linus switched sides from Science/DHARMA to Faith/Others. Note also that Jacob is very anti-science/technology.
