"Sawyer Jones and the Temple of Boom" is an orchestral piece on the Season 5 soundtrack.
Main appearance[]
In 1977, Sawyer and Juliet prepare to return to the "real world", but an unwelcome intruder arrives, cutting short their conversation shortly before the sub dives underwater.
Meanwhile, in the tunnels, Sayid and Jack discuss Eloise's motives in helping them before reaching Jughead.
In 2007, Locke, Ben, and the rest of the Others begin their exodus from their camp. Locke informs Ben he is in fact not interested in being reunited with his people, but instead wants to find Jacob so he can kill him.
Influences[]
The piece begins with Sawyer and Juliet's theme, which Kate's theme cuts short. The submarine theme then finishes the first movement. The second movement consists of Jughead's theme. The final movement consists mainly of the second traveling theme and ends on a blending of the mystery theme and the cliffhanger motif.
Title significance[]
The title refers to the second Indiana Jones film, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. As the second movement plays, Jack and Sayid travel through a temple-like area to find a hydrogen bomb, which they intend to detonate.
