Russell Gray is Howard Gray's son. He was killed in a drunk driving accident. His body was cremated and the ashes were spread at the football field on which he played on at his high school. Russell's father contacted Miles in order to contact his dead son. He wanted to know if Russell knew that he loved him. Miles told him he did and left abruptly. However he came back later telling Howard that he was never able to contact Russell in the first place and told him that he should have asked his son when he was alive if he loved him.
