A Rolex watch was given to Jin by Woo-Jung for him to deliver in Los Angeles.
Original timeline[]
Two identical gold Rolex watches were given to Jin by Mr. Paik to deliver to business associates in Sydney, Australia and Los Angeles, California. ("...In Translation") Jin delivered the first one, but crashed on the Island before he could deliver the second one.
Michael found the remaining watch on the beach and decided to wear it. When Jin saw this, he attacked Michael. After Sun explained to Michael why Jin acted the way he did, Michael gave the watch back to him. ("House of the Rising Sun") After the second raft was launched, Jin returned the watch to Michael. ("Exodus, Part 2")
After returning to New York, Michael pawned the watch at Gus' Pawn Shop in exchange for a revolver in an attempt to take his life. Gus noticed the watch's Korean inscription: "Congratulations... mutual cooperation... business development... Mr. Paik". ("Meet Kevin Johnson")
Flash sideways[]
In the flash sideways world, Jin checked up on the watch while aboard Oceanic Flight 815. After safely landing at LAX, a customs officer opened Jin's luggage and examined the watch in it. An accompanying letter, shown by Jin, said that the watch was a business gift. ("LA X, Part 1")
The watch, along with $25,000 in cash which had been confiscated by U.S. Customs, were intended as payment to gangster Martin Keamy for killing Jin. ("The Package")
Keamy was wearing the watch when he confronted Sayid at his restaurant. ("Sundown")
Trivia[]
