DEUTEROCANON
This article/section contains information officially created to be part of the Lost mythos
but ultimately rejected. It may be endorsed by ABC, or feature cast members.

Robert D. West is a survivor from Oceanic Flight 815, according to a hidden message from him found embedded on the Oceanic-air.com website, an ABC website which preceded The Lost Experience.

West's name has been shortened to simply "Robert". His message could originally be found in the source code of the "Flight Tracker" page [1].

The message reads as follows:

I survived a horrific plane crash and am stranded on an island somewhere Northeast of Australia and Southwest of Hawaii. In the event that I am never found, please forward word of my fate to my parents.

His original message read:

Robert D. West, of Santa Barbara, California, USA survived a horrific plane crash and is stranded on an island somewhere Northeast of Australia and Southwest of Hawaii. In the event that I am never found, please forward word of my fate to parents, Mr. and Mrs. John West, of Tucson Arizona. Thank you.

Skepticism and theories[]

Because the Oceanic website is run by ABC and not the writers, it is uncertain whether a character named Robert is among the survivors on the show.

It remains unknown how Robert, Sally, BJ, and Jake were able to hack the Oceanic website and post their messages. However, their messages could be three from the message bottle in Exodus.

  • However, the bottle that contains the messages was washed up onto the beach and came to be in the possession of Sun.
